Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator / Scheduler to join our team, supporting permanent formwork projects from plan review through to quotation. In this role, you'll interpret construction drawings, quantify materials, prepare bills of quantities, and generate accurate quotes for our permanent formwork systems. You'll play a key part in ensuring estimates are completed efficiently and accurately while supporting the delivery of residential and commercial projects. Role Description The Production Estimator will support the company's residential construction operations by managing the post-sales estimation and procurement process for active builds. The candidate will work exclusively on production estimation once a job has been awarded and released into the build pipeline. The role is process-oriented and volume-driven, requiring strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously, and familiarity with Australian residential construction workflows. The estimator will work closely with the onshore team. Key Responsibilities: - Review and process jobs once released into the production pipeline - Issue and manage requests for quotes (RFQs) to subcontractors and suppliers via the company's estimating system - Follow up on outstanding quotes and ensure timely receipt - Prepare and maintain production budgets for each build - Issue purchase orders (POs) in line with approved budgets - Track and reconcile costs against budgets throughout the build cycle - Liaise with site supervisors and the internal team as needed to clarify scope or resolve variations - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the estimating system - Flag any cost overruns, scope changes, or procurement issues to the relevant stakeholder - Check invoices against budgets and determine outcomes for discrepancies Qualifications - Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, ideally residential, or a directly adjacent sector - Experience working with Australian construction businesses or in an Australian-facing role (strongly preferred) - Familiarity with the end-to-end production estimating process including RFQs, budget preparation, and purchase order management - High proficiency in written and spoken English - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple active jobs simultaneously - Confidence working independently in a remote environment with structured oversight - Experience using construction estimating and project management software - A stable home office setup with reliable internet Requirements - Experience using Sitebook for site documentation, inspections, and project compliance tracking - Proficient in Bluebeam Revu for PDF markup, plan review, and quantity takeoffs - Comfortable using Trello to manage tasks and track project workflows - Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data management and cost tracking Benefits - This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement - Full time equivalent (approximately 36–40 hours per week) - Must be available during South Australian business hours (ACST)

Key Responsibilities - Prepare and revise detailed material takeoffs and quantity surveys with guidance from senior estimating leadership. - Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, structural calculations, and engineering documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements. - Analyze project schedules, including visual mock-ups, testing requirements, material procurement timelines, and installation sequencing. - Develop comprehensive material, labor, equipment, transportation, tax, and subcontractor cost estimates. - Produce detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings. - Prepare material summaries, sketches, and bid documentation required for estimate development. - Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications. - Coordinate bid-related communications, including distribution of plans, specifications, and addenda to vendors and subcontractors. - Prepare bid proposals, pricing breakdowns, unit costs, clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions. - Assist with preparation of final bid packages and customer submissions. - Participate in scope review meetings and maintain detailed meeting documentation. - Follow up with general contractors and customers regarding bid submissions and proposal feedback. - Support senior estimating staff with project pricing, budgeting, and proposal development. - Utilize Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other estimating software tools to prepare accurate estimates and reports. - Meet all proposal deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Qualifications - Minimum two (2) years of estimating, sales, or preconstruction experience, preferably within the construction industry. - Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings and construction documentation. - Experience preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals. - Proficiency with: - AutoCAD - Revit - Bluebeam - Microsoft Office Suite - Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheet analysis - Familiarity with: - Glass door systems - Point-supported glass wall systems - High-span curtain wall systems - Unitized curtain wall systems - Storefront framing and entrance systems - Field construction experience related to unitized curtain wall or glazing installation. - Knowledge of Kawneer storefront products and systems. - Experience with PartnerPak estimating software for Kawneer. - College degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field preferred.
