Principal Android Engineer

Role Description We're looking for a Principal Android Engineer to lead the technical direction of our Android POS platform. This is a highly impactful leadership role responsible for the architecture, stability, and long-term evolution of one of Nomni's most strategic products. You'll combine deep technical expertise with hands-on engineering and mentorship to elevate both the platform and the engineering team. This is not a people management role alone—it is a technical leadership position for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while raising the engineering bar across the organization. - Own the technical architecture and long-term health of the Android POS platform. - Drive platform stability, performance, scalability, and reliability. - Lead the delivery of key Android capabilities while maintaining high engineering standards. - Partner with Product, Design, QA, Infrastructure, and Platform Engineering to deliver customer-focused solutions. - Reduce technical debt and establish sustainable architectural patterns. - Guide the team toward feature parity with iOS while improving platform quality. - Mentor senior engineers and help grow technical capability across the Android team. - Establish engineering best practices, code quality standards, testing strategies, and development processes. - Lead technical investigations and resolve complex production issues. - Influence engineering strategy and contribute to technology decisions across Nomni. Qualifications - Extensive professional Android development experience building large-scale production applications. - Expert knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android architecture. - Strong understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, Coroutines, Flow, and dependency injection. - Experience designing scalable, maintainable mobile architectures. - Proven ability to lead technical direction on complex engineering projects. - Strong understanding of software design principles, testing, performance optimization, and CI/CD. - Experience mentoring senior engineers and driving engineering excellence. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Requirements - Experience with Android-based POS or payment systems. - Knowledge of payment integrations and peripheral hardware. - Experience with offline-first applications and synchronization. - Exposure to enterprise-scale SaaS platforms. - Experience working with distributed remote engineering teams. Success in This Role Within your first year, you'll: - Improve platform reliability and reduce recurring production incidents. - Drive meaningful architectural improvements across the Android codebase. - Accelerate delivery of strategic Android initiatives. - Strengthen engineering capability through mentorship and technical leadership. - Help establish Android as a scalable platform supporting Nomni's continued global expansion.

Role Description As an Android Engineer at Midnite, working within our Rewards UX Team, you'll be building the platform behind some of our most important customer experiences. From brand-new features and product improvements to the details that make an app feel fast, intuitive, and distinctly Midnite, you'll help shape how players interact with our product every day.
