Job Description

Field Applications Scientist

Bio-Techne

• Provide on-field support for pre-and post-sales activities with direct customers and channel partners • Educate, train, and support new and existing customers on Lunaphore instrumentation and data analysis solutions • Collaborate with account managers to expand instrument, software, and consumable sales • Attend scientific meetings, conferences, and trade shows to present company products, applications, and data • Investigate issues relating to hardware, software, and biological assays and develop solutions to address them • Report and present feedback from the field through thorough and detailed presentations • Develop multiplex staining assays and evaluate stained tissues

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or similar required
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences or related area preferred
  • A minimum of three years of hands-on experience working in a molecular biology lab, clinical lab, discovery lab, or biochemistry in a research or clinical setting is required
  • Previous experience in a field application or scientific support position is desirable
  • Demonstrated competency in experiment design and analytic skills, with strong scientific fundamentals
  • Thorough understanding of histology, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, microfluidics, and automation
  • Ability to independently support customers through proactive communication, reagent/instrument troubleshooting, and running optimization/validation studies
  • Solid communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to translate data to meaningful, understandable conclusions
  • Professional presence and strong interpersonal skills.
