Thirdwave is looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team. Our ideal candidate is someone with a strong analytical mindset, capable of leading advanced data analytics projects and contributing to the overall data science strategy. You like emerging technologies like Blockchains and are passionate about shaping the industry. What you’ll achieve As a Data Scientist at our startup, you will be pivotal in analyzing billions of blockchain wallets and tens of billions of transactions to derive actionable insights. You will develop and refine both descriptive statistics and predictive models, leveraging your expertise to understand complex blockchain ecosystems and drive data-informed decisions. With significant autonomy, you will have the opportunity to influence our product’s direction and contribute to the company's growth. You’ll Also: Building predictive and descriptive statistical models using financial data, such as Lifetime Value (LTV) Deploying and maintaining models, code, and data pipelines for customer-facing applications Collaborating closely with engineers and product teams to develop models that drive data-driven decisions Enhancing our product offerings and identifying new growth opportunities Optimizing models for performance and cost in distributed data warehouses Conducting data mining on public data to extract actionable insights Managing ETL connectors to ensure seamless data flow across systems Guiding the development of visualizations to present data findings in an intuitive and accessible manner About you Fast learner, self-starter, go-getter, and intellectually curious Strong communicator with the ability to think about data at scale and beyond individual record levels. Passionate about Blockchain and have a fundamental understanding of protocol mechanisms. Comfortable interacting with various APIs, and raw blockchain queries. Job Requirements
- Proficient in building predictive and descriptive models with financial and blockchain data
- Experience with distributed data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, or Spark) and optimizing models for performance and cost
- Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for transforming data within data warehouses
- Expertise in data mining and managing ETL processes
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience with data orchestration frameworks (e.g., Dagster, Luigi, or Prefect) and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and databases (e.g., Postgres, Redis)
- Ability to develop and deploy customer-facing applications and visualizations
