Role Description Adree is seeking a .NET Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs. The role involves building scalable systems, improving performance, and collaborating with frontend, QA, and other engineering teams. - Develop and maintain backend services using .NET / C#. - Build REST APIs and backend endpoints following best practices. - Design and implement database solutions using SQL Server / PostgreSQL / MySQL. - Write efficient queries, optimize performance, and ensure data integrity. - Integrate backend services with external systems using APIs and webhooks. - Implement authentication/authorization (e.g., JWT, OAuth2) and security best practices. - Create and maintain background jobs/queues using technologies like Hangfire / Quartz / Azure Functions / Service Bus (as applicable). - Build and maintain microservices or modular monolith architecture (as per project needs). - Work with caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis) if required. - Perform code reviews, debugging, and ensure high-quality code and documentation. - Use Git workflows and follow agile/Scrum practices. - Support production deployments and resolve issues in a timely manner. Qualifications - 3–6 years of professional experience in .NET backend development. - Strong experience in C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs. - Good understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean code. - Strong database knowledge and ability to write optimized SQL queries. - Experience with authentication/authorization concepts (JWT/OAuth2). - Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and performance considerations. - Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: Entity Framework / Dapper. - Web API / RESTful services. - Basic understanding of system design and scalability concepts. - Good communication and teamwork skills. • Design, build, and evolve backend services in Go for the Data Insights Platform and Siphon, with a focus on scalable ingestion, transport, replication, storage, querying, and deployment paths. • Own significant parts of the backend architecture for Data Insights Platform, Siphon, and the Query API, including the gRPC integration between the Query API and the GitLab Rails application, and shape technical direction for system boundaries, reliability, throughput, operability, and maintainability. • Contribute to systems built around replication, buffering, query-serving, and query-oriented storage patterns, including Siphon, NATS or similar messaging layers, ClickHouse-backed storage, and APIs consumed by GitLab product surfaces. • Drive production readiness and deployment of Data Insights Platform and Siphon across GitLab environments, with attention to rollout safety, environment-specific constraints, and long-term operational readiness. • Debug and improve complex distributed systems in production, including performance bottlenecks, scaling limits, failure recovery paths, and observability gaps. • Work closely with Infrastructure, Data, and peer Engineering teams on technical design, iteration planning, code review, and delivery to keep the platform reliable, secure, and usable by downstream consumers. • Work asynchronously with other team members in GitLab's all-remote environment and contribute to a culture of clear written communication, iteration, and ownership. • Use AI effectively in your daily workflow as a productivity multiplier for implementation, debugging, investigation, and documentation work.
