Title: Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter Location: New York, NY - CM First Job Description: This is a hybrid opportunity and this role requires onsite in-office presence 3 days per week at our office in New York City. Applicants must be located within a commutable distance to New York City. We’re seeking a Senior Underwriter with a strong background in commercial lines insurance to market new and renewal accounts and effectively communicate with carriers. Your Impact: - Evaluates information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines. - Makes appropriate decisions based on the evaluation of underwriting information. - Effectively communicates and negotiates underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes. - Documents decisions in accordance with regulatory standards. - Acts with a sense of urgency on all inquiries/requests. - Provides outstanding customer service. - Underwrites a moderate book of business with a moderate to complex risk profile. - Performs other duties as assigned. Successful Candidates Will Have: - Associate Degree or higher, plus 5 years of relevant commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience. Additional 2 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience will be considered in lieu of degree. - Excess and Surplus Lines experience is highly preferred. - Bilingual (English/Mandarin) is strongly preferred. - Must have the ability to react and respond quickly and professionally. - Must provide creative, analytical, and innovative thinking to inure to productive problem-solving. - Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Role Description The Senior Commercial Underwriter is responsible for commercial credit activities for FourLeaf ensuring consistency with MBL policy and commercial credit standards for commercial lending activities and portfolio.
