Role Description Our Australian client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join their growing team in a fully remote capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for a South African professional with estimating and quantity take-off experience within the plumbing, civil, or small construction sectors to work with an established Western Australian business. Duties & Responsibilities - Take-offs, variation pricing, and order/procurement schedules for predominantly plumbing/civil and small construction projects (ranging from $5,000 to $5m AUD). - Take-offs under Senior Estimator direction. - Maintain spreadsheets and estimate summaries. - Price project variations. - Prepare order/procurement lists on awarded jobs. - Daily Teams meetings and progress updates. - Keep tender files organised. Qualifications - Proven estimating and take-off experience (plumbing/civil & small construction). - Degree/diploma preferred but not essential. - Strong plan interpretation and quantity take-offs. - Proficient with Excel. - Fluent in English written and verbal. - Simpro experience preferred but not essential. - Ability to obtain and compare supplier quotes.

Role Description The Estimator is the person who supports the sales and projects staff in developing design and engineering solutions for sales opportunities. The Engineer/Estimator keeps the estimates accurate and information up to date. The Estimator will also assist in the day-to-day sales and projects activities of the Company. - Provide complete project engineering, selection of applicable materials, and define basis for assigning and estimating labor. - Write scope of work and develop cost estimate in response to bid specifications. - Assist the sales organization by attending site-walk and pre-bid meetings on project activity. - Track all site visits and keep detailed information of site conditions for use in the design of the engineering solutions. - Act as liaison between and meet with sales, project management, and operations when project is turned over for installation. - Monitor that the sales price and actual installation costs coincide. - Follow Company guidelines on preferred selection of vendors and products. - Work with vendors to obtain best solution, most competitive price, and proper lead-time on materials. - Provide floor plan takeoffs and project application per Company’s recommended solutions book and technical support personnel. - Ensure that all engineering work meets the customer and Company quality and safety level at all times. - Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements according to the Company’s training guidelines. - Meet bid schedules and deadlines, working within and have the ability to meet a very strict timeframe. - Attend and complete job turnover meetings as required to cover all details and expectations of project as they were designed. - Complete other responsibilities as assigned. • Proactively review bid packages and lead or participate in developing high-quality pricing and proposal. • Develop or lead the development of comprehensive bid packages for submittal to the client. • Develop and manage RFP’s for various packages and solicit proposals from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers. • Direct customer interface throughout the bidding and design process. • Work with internal and external team members to solicit pricing and provide a complete bid package with complete ownership through the entire bidding process. • Request pricing for bonds, sales tax, insurance, prevailing wage, and other pricing requirements as projects require. • Review historical project data and lessons learned with construction teams to further refine and increase the accuracy of the pricing model. • Development of complete and accurate solar and battery storage estimates ranging from 1MW to 50+MW projects. • Estimate self-perform labor and equipment production costs to be incorporated into the proposal. • Prepare, and present bid detailed contractual proposals for clarification to the client. • Understanding of solar project scope, schedule, and cost to build conforming bid. • Write, modify, and define detailed project scope to communicate to the customer what is included/excluded from the proposal. • Continually maintain a solar estimating database of pricing and assemblies A desire for the continued growth of knowledge and understanding of the solar market. • Provide technical assistance such as interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods, specify and order materials, tools and equipment. • Identify potential project risks and bring them forward for discussion, and mitigation strategies. • Provide detailed hand-off package and continued project support as needed to Preconstruction and Construction project teams. • Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system. • Additional duties as assigned.

In this position, you will be responsible for quoting foodservice equipment and contract design (114000) projects to aid in new business development and enterprise growth. This remote position is based on your location; however, we do have offices located in Milwaukee, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, and Sacramento.
