Job Description

Senior Demand Planner

Skylight (skylightframe.com)

Location: Remote, Seattle or Los Angeles preferred Type: Full-time Skylight is a technology startup based out of Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our mission is to connect loved ones by creating the world’s simplest products and services that improve family life. We make consumer products, like Skylight Frame and Skylight Calendar, that are loved by millions of people across the globe. Our founders are former venture capitalists and serial entrepreneurs, who have scaled this business to $180M+ in annual revenue while being completely bootstrapped and profitable. We think often about the thousands of smiles we are able to put on our customers’ faces each day, and it fills our hearts with purpose. That’s why we have been working hard to expand our team and invent, so that we can continue to bring the magic of Skylight to millions of loved ones throughout the world. What You’ll Own In this role you’ll help build, own, and improve the forecast engine that turns performance signals (traffic, impressions, conversion rates, in-stock levels, store counts, sell-through) and consumer signals (macroeconomic trends and our own customer behavior) into actionable demand and revenue plans. You’ll live at the intersection of commercial, finance, and supply chain — translating marketing and eCommerce metrics into channel-level forecasts and aligning those forecasts with inventory and operations readiness across DTC, Amazon and wholesale. Responsibilities: Partner with Marketing, eCommerce, Commercial, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align assumptions (e.g. product launches, promotional activity, channel shifts) and translate those into forecast inputs. Lead the consolidated cross-channel forecast and guide strategic decisions within each channel forecast. Develop and maintain the bottom-up forecast model for DTC and Amazon globally. Take market and operational indicators and translate them into SKU-level demand and revenue projections. eCommerce (Amazon and DTC): Analyze historical and marketing data to forecast demand. Develop and execute assortment and promotional strategies based on current run rate performance. Support the monthly & quarterly forecast cadence: prepare and present forecast vs. actual analyses, identify risks and upside opportunities, document assumptions and scenarios. Work hand in hand with Operations Planning and Supply Chain to ensure forecasts translate into inventory, procurement and replenishment plans. Continuously improve forecasting processes, tools, and metrics: bring data, automation, visualization, scenario planning and best practices into the model so we get smarter and faster. Be a trusted business partner: take your forecast insights, highlight where things are deviating, help steer decisions on marketing spend, inventory investment, channel shifts and product launches. What Sets You Apart This role is not for everyone. You will thrive here if you: Can find the 1-2 things that actually drive outcomes or that will really make a difference for any given goal. Feel comfortable in ambiguity. You don’t need a roadmap handed to you—you’ll make one. Can both execute while designing repeatable processes that work in practice. Care deeply. You show up with curiosity, vulnerability, and good intent. Requirements Benefits Our competitive compensation package includes: Competitive Salary + Equity Package 401K matching Wellness, learning, and home-office budgets Health, Dental & Vision Medical Plans Tremendous autonomy to set the direction of your work Unlimited PTO Company holidays on the first Friday of every month (Excluding November, December, and January) Equal opportunity employer Skylight is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other factor protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws. If you’re the best person for the job, we want you on board! We hire across the U.S., but for legal reasons, we have to list NY and CO separately. For Colorado-based candidates, the range being offered for this role is $150 - 175k based on experience and for California-based candidates, the range being offered for this role is $150 - 175k based on experience. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider employment for qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of this law. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.
