Seal Technician
MD&A
• Responsible for the installation of steam turbine packing and seals. • Precision measurements of existing packing rings and seals in order to manufacture replacement parts. • Removal of existing seals from turbine steam path. • Installation of new packing rings, spills strips, associated springs, and hardware. • On site machining of replacement seals to achieve design clearances (trimming butt gaps, hook adjustments, teeth adjustments, etc.). • Creation of daily log report / final installation data. • Upkeep and maintenance of portable machine shops. • Train other personnel as needed. • Must be willing to work significant overtime during busy periods.
Job Requirements
- Minimum (3) years experience in a manufacturing/machining role preferred.
- Experience using a CNC/manual milling machine, and precision measurement tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, etc.
- Must be eligible to work in Nuclear and Fossil power generation facilities.
- Successful candidate will be available for significant amounts of travel during the Spring and Fall outage periods.
- Domestic and International travel required.
- Valid driver’s license
