Associate Mathematician
ARRISE
Role Description We’re building a brand-new, US-based, fully remote game studio developing new slot games and we’re looking for an Associate Mathematician to help develop the math models that power our games. In this role, you’ll work with an experienced Game Designer to create new slot game math models with high-performing mechanics, ensuring they are accurate, fair, and engaging. What You’ll Be Doing - Define the mathematical profile of the game, including the game’s balance, volatility, and player experience. - Create and maintain the game’s PAR sheets and other math documentation, using both Excel and simulations. - Work closely with the Game Designer, prototyping team, and engineering team to ensure the math is implemented accurately and follows the overall game design. - Playtest and iterate on your game’s math and mechanics with an eye toward creating the best player experience possible. - Collaborate with other mathematicians to provide gameplay feedback and recommendations for improvement on each other’s games. - Regularly play competitors’ games in the iGaming and land-based spaces to stay abreast of industry trends and new mechanics. Qualifications - Strong interest in casino games, especially slots, in iGaming and land-based markets. - Experience developing math models for real-money slot games is a plus. - Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - Expertise using Excel to model probabilities and perform data analysis. - Familiarity programming in C++, C#, or Python. - Excellent written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across the globe. - Passion for games and learning industry trends, emerging game mechanics, and player expectations. Requirements - Be comfortable moving between multiple projects while maintaining a high attention to detail. - Bring strong organization and structure to a fast-moving environment. - Have a passion for problem solving in complex systems. - Obsess over detail and refinement. - Provide, accept, and act on feedback constructively.

Role Description The global cement sector is responsible for around 8% of global CO2 emissions and our team is dedicated to decarbonizing this sector. The Senior Program Associate will join the Cement and Building Materials Team in guiding, growing, and administering Global Industry Hub’s (GIH) grantmaking portfolio. GIH is fiscally sponsored by the ClimateWorks Foundation. The Senior Associate will spend their time on program administration activities, grantmaking, communication with grantees, reporting and tracking of grants, refining our decarbonization strategy, and organizing convenings for our global grantees and leading industry experts. The Senior Program Associate will increasingly act as a subject matter expert representing the Global Industry Hub and be a key point of contact for work related to cement and concrete. This role requires skills in program management, communication, collaboration, and independent research.
