Communications Coordinator

Rising Ground

• Draft written communications to various contributors including agency donors, supporters, and friends, such as newsletters, press releases, media advisories, and organizational communications including executive and leadership messaging. • Manage the agency content calendar and coordinate content submissions across departments. • Create, schedule, and publish social media content; monitor channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram for community engagement and responses. • Maintain website content and coordinate updates with vendors or internal stakeholders. • Support content creation for email, digital platforms, and fundraising communications initiatives. • Create or coordinate graphics and visual assets using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. • Assist with promotional efforts for agency events, campaigns, and special initiatives. • Maintain brand standards, media lists, and organizational content libraries across all communications; maintain a catalog of all communications projects within the organization. • Coordinate cross-functional communications projects, tracking deadlines, approvals, and deliverables; liaise with external vendors, freelancers, and platform providers as needed. • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social).
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
  • Familiarity with a CMS (preferably WordPress) and basic web content management.
  • Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Express, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with media relations, press outreach, or crisis communications support.
