Role Description We are seeking a skilled and proactive Oracle DBA with deep expertise in automation and shell scripting, specifically within Oracle’s multitenant (CDB/PDB) architecture. This role focuses on optimizing and automating routine DBA operations to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability across multiple database instances. - Design, build, and maintain Shell scripts to automate daily DBA tasks in multitenant environments (e.g., backups, health checks, patching, provisioning). - Automate PDB-level operations: creation, cloning, unplug/plug, refreshes, and performance monitoring. - Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN with automated scheduling and logging. - Manage and monitor CDB and PDB performance, storage, and security. - Develop automation for startup/shutdown, tablespace monitoring, and user/role management across all PDBs. - Maintain clear documentation for automation scripts and standard operating procedures. - Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and compliance in multitenant setups. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA with solid exposure to multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB) in Oracle 12c/19c/21c. - Expertise in Shell scripting on Unix/Linux environments. - Proven experience automating Oracle DBA tasks (monitoring, backups, user management, cloning, etc.). - Experience with Python or tools for advanced automation. - Strong knowledge of RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), and SQL*Plus. - Familiarity with database security, patching, and performance tuning.
