Sr. Java Engineer

This role involves designing and engineering software solutions while collaborating with various teams. Ability to design and engineer software solutions, including documenting, collaborating and aligning with portfolio architects, solution architects, and the local team. Strong ability to communicate, facilitate, and educate within a group setting. Strong ability to collaborate with others to solve local problems or complex design solutions both in and outside the team. Ability to balance problem solving or working on a variety of systems unrelated to one another. Passion and appetite to drive technical improvements with the goal of speeding up delivery. Assist, coach, and mentor other engineers on the team with day-to-day challenges, complex coding issues, and/or problem solving. The ability to translate and communicate complex technical issues into simple terms for non-technical people. Experienced in maturing DevOps and engineering practices. Experience in engineering of either existing or new solutions, enterprise integrations patterns, and/or microservices architecture. Passion for continuous learning and sharing learnings with others. Ability to solve complex problems into sustainable and long-term solutions.
Job Requirements
- 9+ years in Java, Spring framework
- 2+ years using OpenShift, event-driven technologies (Kafka, Rabbit)
- 5+ years leveraging database platforms (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo)
- 3+ years with event-driven and microservices design
- 3+ years of data analysis, business rules, new data sourcing discovery
- 3+ years using GitHub, DevOps practices, and tools
- OpenShift is preferred but not required.
- Hands-on experience with MQ is essential.
- No West Coast candidates.
- Ability to advocate and pursue ways to mature DevOps practices and gain alignment and support from the team.
