Role Description As a Lead Product Designer, you'll own a pillar of the CompanyCam experience: its impact, quality, and craft end to end, and a leading voice in shaping its roadmap, not just executing against a brief. You'll always be thinking past the edges of your pillar, since your decisions need to stay coherent with the rest of the product. You'll act as a leading thought partner to your product and engineering counterparts, and help raise the quality of the design team's work through your practice, the feedback you give, and the standards you hold. We're looking for someone with strong product judgment, deep design craft, and the ability to lift the work of the designers around them. Remote: Candidates must permanently and currently reside in the United States. Employees are not required to work in the office or relocate to Lincoln, Nebraska, for this opportunity. Employees are encouraged to come hang out at headquarters for up to 10 days per calendar year on CompanyCam's dime. What You'll Do - Lead foundational product design across the core product, shaping workflows, information architecture, and experience coherence as the product evolves. - Design high-quality, intuitive experiences that simplify complexity while maintaining consistency across an evolving product ecosystem, including new agentic and AI-driven surfaces. - Use design to shape product priorities, scope, and strategic decisions, extending influence far beyond execution. - Actively explore and integrate AI tools into your process to work smarter, faster, and with more insight. - Mentor designers through clear feedback, strong craft and design rationale, and visible practice that sharpens decision-making, strengthens judgment, and improves both team process and product outcomes. - Work in tight partnership with product managers and engineering teams to plan, prioritize, and ship. - Lead with empathy and clarity, helping teams align around shared goals and a strong customer perspective. The Impact You'll Have At CompanyCam, your work makes a real impact. Whether you're writing code, supporting customers, or designing experiences, your contributions directly shape the product we deliver and the people we serve. We're building something that helps real people solve real problems—and we believe that kind of work is best done by a team that reflects the world around us. - Defining and protecting the core product experience, ensuring workflows, information architecture, and surfaces remain cohesive as the product grows. - Raising the quality, judgment, and consistency of the broader design team through mentorship, leadership, and visible excellence in your own work. - Influencing product strategy and organizational decision-making by connecting design execution to broader business, customer, and operational outcomes. - Driving solutions that improve long-term simplicity, scalability, product coherence, and genuinely improves the lives of our customers. - Helping CompanyCam scale faster without sacrificing usability, foundational quality, or the integrity of the customer experience. What You'll Bring Core Requirements (non-negotiable) - 7+ years of product design experience, including time operating at a senior or lead level. - Strong mobile and web product design experience, preferably in SaaS or similar experiences with complex and varied user personas. - Proven ability to lead high-impact design work in ambiguous or foundational product areas, not just feature execution. - Deep expertise in UX, systems thinking, and workflow design, with the ability to maintain coherence across complex product ecosystems. - Demonstrated track record of raising design quality and mentoring a growing team. - Strong ability to balance long-term product vision with rapid, iterative execution that drives learning while maintaining product cohesion. - AI-native mindset, with genuine enthusiasm for designing agentic and AI-powered experiences. Skepticism is fine; fear or negativity toward AI is a mismatch for this role. What Sets You Apart - Experience owning or significantly shaping core product experiences, including information architecture, hierarchy, and cross-surface consistency. - Strong product judgment and the confidence to push back when necessary, while building alignment rather than friction. - Clear, practical documentation habits that leave teams stronger through reusable frameworks, systems, and decision-making artifacts. Nice to Have - Experience designing for trades work or similar field environment personas. - Formal education in Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, or a related field. - Experience mentoring, hiring, or formally leading other designers. - Demonstrated AI workflow fluency and excitement for integrating modern tools into design practice. What Success Looks Like - You've raised the design bar. Your work gets pointed to as an example of exceptional craft and taste. - You've shipped product with major business impact. The areas you own are visibly better because of you. - You operate autonomously. You don't wait for direction. You see what needs to be done and do it. - Engineers love working with you. Your designs are considered, clear, and easy to implement. - Your peers trust your judgment. When you push for quality, people listen. Benefits - This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. Our starting salary range is $178,000–$200,000 per year and is based on experience. - We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.

Role Description Planning Center makes software that helps churches help people — and the people who run those churches are real, busy, and deserve tools that actually work. Our Design Managers are responsible for both the people and the work: - Lead a team of Product Designers, setting the design direction in alignment with other areas of the company. - Partner with your Area Triad (Product Manager and Senior Engineering Manager) to shape priorities and development. - Stay close enough to the craft to raise the bar on what ships. Responsibilities - Lead and develop a team of Product Designers through regular 1:1s, feedback, performance conversations, and growth planning. - Partner with your Area Triad (PM and ENG lead) to define design strategy and turn business goals into clear design direction. - Set and hold a high bar for design craft. Give feedback that is specific, grounded, and connected to the user. - Step in to do hands-on design work when the team needs support or additional bandwidth. - Run design reviews, crits, and stakeholder conversations that move work forward with the right people in the room. - Coach designers to form a clear point of view and own their problem space, rather than waiting for direction. - Hire and onboard new designers as the team grows. - Contribute to the evolution of Planning Center's design system and push for cross-product consistency. - Establish and refine design processes that scale with team growth and product complexity. - Model thoughtful use of AI tools and help your team build real confidence using them. Qualifications - 3+ years leading a team of product designers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management. - Experience partnering in a product trio or cross-functional structure to set direction and make trade-offs. - A track record of shaping ambiguous problems alongside product and engineering -- not just executing well-scoped design work. - Strong design craft with the ability to set a high bar and give feedback that raises others' work. - Clear, confident communicator in writing, in conversation, and in cross-functional stakeholder settings. - Fluency in Figma and a curiosity about where design tools and practice are heading. Nice to Have - Experience contributing to a design system or working closely with a design systems team. - Background as an IC product designer before moving into management. - Familiarity with church management software or the faith-based sector. - Experience integrating AI-assisted design tools into your own workflow and helping your team do the same. The Hiring Process During the hiring process, you’ll have a chance to interact with several members of our team. We want this process to feel clear, respectful, and human. - Step One: Apply with a resume and complete the application questions. - Step Two: Initial phone screen with someone from our Talent Acquisition team. - Step Three: Interview with Design Managers and the Director of Product Design. - Step Four: Interview with team members from Engineering and Product. - Step Five: Final interview with the Director of Product Design. - Step Six: Pending all goes well, we'll extend an offer. Compensation & Logistics - This is a US-based role; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States. - Candidates must be willing to travel three times each year to connect with the rest of the team. - The annual salary range for this position is $198,000 - $225,000. Benefits - Competitive pay no matter where you live. - 401(k) contributions and charitable giving match of up to $2,000 per year. - Generous allowance for continued education and coworking stipend. - Generous paid sick and vacation time, $200 per month for physical fitness and mental health. - 95% medical plus 100% dental premium coverage. - Paid Fridays off year-round. - Month-long sabbatical every five years and a week off between Christmas and New Year’s. - One week each year to serve with a globally focused non-profit. - Two weeks of paid vacation (increasing to three over time).
