Role Description We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with direct experience applying the EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 to manufacturers selling products in Europe. This consultant will conduct a detailed, hands-on review of existing products and compliance plans to ensure readiness for regulatory requirements rolling out across 2025, 2026, and 2027. The engagement will focus on reviewing and validating an existing compliance plan, including the identification of gaps, risks, and unknowns. - Review and assess the current EU Battery Regulation compliance plan for completeness and regulatory alignment - Identify gaps, ambiguities, and implementation risks within the current plan - Define “Producer” obligations across different supply chain and reseller scenarios - Review and advise on labeling strategies, including: - Motors vs. finished products - Label placement requirements - Battery date coding requirements and placement considerations - Advice on EPR obligations, including: - Producer registration - Annual reporting requirements - Recycling program considerations and implementation strategy - Validate implementation readiness and ensure the organization has an actionable compliance roadmap ahead of upcoming deadlines - Provide practical recommendations aligned with the company’s business model and operational realities.
