Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer – Infrastructure/DevOps

• Build and manage AWS GovCloud environments entirely in AWS CDK (TypeScript). • Enforce compliance rules (cdk-nag NIST packs) from the first stack. • Manage networking, compute, data stores, and secrets. • Architect GitHub Actions with affected-only builds and remote caching. • Implement merge queues and test sharding. • Maintain a strict latency budget on PR gates to ensure speed. • Build "Compliance as a build artifact" where pipeline gates map directly to NIST controls. • Automate the generation of security-authorization evidence for the government. • Manage a dual-scan delivery pipeline for signed artifacts and provenance. • Implement CAC/ICAM-integrated identity and mTLS. • Develop policy-as-code authorization and continuous posture monitoring. • Own all merged code, ensuring agent output meets production-grade standards. • Refine the team’s versioned engineering "harness" and rules. • Debug flakiness anywhere in the stack, from application code to database schemas.
Job Requirements
- Clearance: Must be eligible for a US Secret security clearance.
- 7+ years building and operating production cloud platforms.
- Agentic AI Proficiency: Hands-on experience with agentic AI development tools (Codex, Claude Code, or equivalent) on production codebases.
- Deep fluency in TypeScript and AWS CDK.
- Software engineering depth in Node.js and PostgreSQL/Prisma.
- Experience with container orchestration (EKS/ECS).
- Compliance Knowledge: Proven track record of operating cloud infrastructure for products at DoD IL4 or similar high-security environments.

Role Description The Director of Cloud and DevOps will lead and manage our cloud platform, infrastructure automation, and DevOps organizations. This leadership role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency of our cloud environments while enabling modern software delivery practices through CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cloud architecture, DevOps, site reliability engineering, and platform operations, with a proven track record of leading transformation in complex environments. The ability to build high-performing teams, set strategic direction, improve developer experience, and deliver measurable business value through resilient and efficient cloud operations is critical. The Director of Cloud and DevOps will lead a small team and be a working Director; this is not purely a Leadership position. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. - Minimum of 7 years of experience with AWS specifically. - Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred. - Proven experience managing cloud environments, automation programs, and modern software delivery platforms. Requirements - Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services. - Strong knowledge of DevOps and platform engineering practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization, and automation. - Strong understanding of balancing engineering priorities, delivering cost-effective solutions, and improving business outcomes through scalable cloud platforms. - In-depth understanding of reliability engineering, observability, incident management, governance, and security best practices in cloud environments. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Experience selecting and managing cloud providers, platform vendors, and strategic consulting partners. - Ability to manage multiple rapidly changing priorities while maintaining detail-oriented and effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to think strategically and execute effectively in a fast-paced, transformation-oriented environment. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on automation, resilience, and continuous improvement. - Proven track record of successfully attracting, developing, and leading high-performing cloud and DevOps teams.
