AI Software Engineer

Role Description - In new product design roles, use machine language and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy. - In both theoretical development environments and specific product design, implementation, and improvement environments, use current programming language and technologies to translate algorithms and technical specifications into code. - Complete programming and implement efficiencies, perform testing and debugging. - Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. - Apply deep learning technologies to give computers the capability to visualize, learn and respond to complex situations. - Adapt machine learning to areas such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, robotics and other products that allow users to have an interactive experience. - Work with large scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments. - Having wide-ranging experience, use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. - Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. - Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. - Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. - Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. Qualifications - Requires a master’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent. - Must have 4 years of experience in job offered or related occupation. - Must have 4 years of experience in the following: - 4 years of experience in ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) for live captioning; - 4 years of experience in Conformer model structure, RNN-T (Recursive Neural Network – Transducer) Transformer Encoder, Beam Search, etc; - 4 years of experience using GPUs across nodes for ASR training to improve the ASR training pipeline; - 4 years of experience in C++ Programming; - 4 years of experience in Python Programming for model training. Requirements - Telecommuting work arrangement permitted: position may work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. - Position does not require domestic or international travel. Salary Range or On Target Earnings - Minimum: $264,514.00 - Maximum: $332,200.00 - In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed, Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration base salary, bonus and equity value. - Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. - We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.

• Design realistic **software engineering challenges** involving debugging, feature development, code refactoring, and performance optimization • Develop **reference implementations** and reproducible software environments • Write high-quality code in **Python**, **Java**, **Go**, **Rust**, **C++**, or **TypeScript** • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects • Refactor and optimize existing codebases for performance, maintainability, and scalability • Document technical decisions, implementation approaches, and engineering rationale • Review and validate technical solutions submitted by other contributors • Apply software engineering best practices across diverse programming languages and systems
