Sophos
• Contribute to the design and implementation of product features that align with technical strategy, quality standards, and functional requirements. • Develop full lifecycle code from development, testing, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements. • Participate in release planning, providing reliable estimations and delivering work that meets scope and quality expectations. • Engage in code reviews and other collaborative engineering practices. • Take part in daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and retrospective discussions. • Participate in security reviews of new development to help ensure compliance with Sophos security requirements and industry best practices. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as a first responder in the team.
Job Requirements
- Strong foundations in computer science fundamentals (e.g., data structures, algorithms, software design, and debugging).
- Experience writing your own code through academic projects, internships, personal projects, or open-source contributions.
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems and reason through trade-offs.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity, continuous learning, and a willingness to take ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Practical experience of developing code in C++
- Working knowledge of Python or other scripting language.
- Experience of developing for Microsoft Windows platforms
- Experience of Microsoft Windows driver development.
- Interest in cybersecurity
