Job Description
(Senior) Java Developer
Chrono24
Role Description Join an internationally successful development team and help shape a secure, highly available platform. - We care about clean, maintainable code. Quality and trade-offs are discussed openly, not treated as formality. - You’ll work with modern technologies like Java 25, Spring, MySQL, and GitLab CI. - Shape solutions alongside product, UX, and your fellow developers – your perspective goes into the design, not just the implementation. - Invest in your growth: 10% of your working time is reserved for learning or personal projects. Qualifications - Think in terms of the problem, not just the ticket; you ask why something is being built, not only what. - Write code that others can read, change, and trust; you care about the craft of doing so. - Collaborate naturally with teammates and other teams; communicate clearly in writing and in conversation. - Take ownership from problem to production – you see features through, not just to the pull request. - Value pragmatism over purity; you can tell the difference between "good enough for now" and "this will hurt us later." - Bring hands-on experience with Java and its ecosystem, with solid fundamentals in testing, version control, CI/CD, and how software runs in production. - Familiarity with some of the tools we use day-to-day (Spring, Maven or Gradle, SQL, GitLab); knowing the rest can be picked up on the job. Benefits - We only offer permanent employment contracts. - 30 days of vacation per year. - Working from HQ in Karlsruhe? Our kitchen conjures up a truly excellent, free meal for you every day. - On December 24th and 31st, we’ll give you an additional day off. - Work abroad for up to 20 days per year: Working with a sea view? Yes, please! - Diversity@Chrono24: We believe in the power of diversity. - Diversity is our strength. Company Description We stand for a dynamic company culture with flat hierarchies and strong team spirit. We are growing fast - and love pushing beyond our limits. By actively shaping our future, we create an inspiring and attractive work environment. Do you want to be part of it? Then apply now and become a valuable member of our team in a company that keeps growing - with you!

Senior Software Engineer - Testing AI Coding Agents
MindriftApply → Pass qualification(s) → Join a project → Complete tasks → Get paid. Project time expectations: Tasks are estimated to require around 10–20 hours per week during active phases, based on project requirements; This is an estimate, not a guaranteed workload, and applies only while the project is active. Note: Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to highly specialized experts. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or non-core project phases. Payment details are shared per project.
Role Description Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies, focused on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. Participation is project-based. What this opportunity involves: - Building a dataset to evaluate AI coding agents - how well a model handles real-world developer tasks. - Creating challenging tasks and evaluation criteria within realistic simulated environments: - Build realistic developer environments - a virtual company with codebase, infrastructure, and context (tickets, docs, conversations) that forms a believable development history. - Design tasks from intermediate states of these environments - craft the prompt, define what "solved" means, and ensure the task is solvable by an AI agent. - Write tests that verify agent solutions - accept all valid approaches and reject incorrect ones, neither too strict nor too lenient. - Iterate on tasks and tests based on QA feedback - review agent solutions, analyze failures, and refine until the evaluation is fair and robust. What this is NOT: - Not data labeling. - Not prompt engineering. - Not writing code from scratch - the agent writes most of the code; you guide and evaluate. Qualifications - 5+ years in software development. - Core stack: Python (FastAPI), JavaScript/TypeScript (React), Docker, Postgres, Kafka, Redis. - Experience writing tests (functional, integration). - English proficiency - B2+. Requirements - Deep understanding of where models fail and what scenarios reveal the difference between a good and a bad solution. - Ability to create tasks that genuinely challenge the best models. - Writing tests that accept all correct solutions and reject incorrect ones. Benefits - Compensation up to $50/hr equivalent, depending on level and pace. - Tasks are estimated at ~20 hours each; you set your own schedule. Effort Estimate Tasks for this project are estimated to take 20 hours to complete, depending on complexity. This is an estimate and not a schedule requirement; you choose when and how to work. Tasks must be submitted by the deadline and meet the listed acceptance criteria to be accepted.
