Home Based Direct Support Professional
Abound Health
This role involves providing one-on-one support in clients’ homes and communities, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) live safely, independently, and with dignity. Support behavioral, social, and vocational skill development Assist with recreational and community activities Follow treatment plans and document progress Provide companionship and respite care Submit documentation and payroll on time Participate in ongoing training Assist with personal care needs as required Work independently in home and community settings
Job Requirements
- Genuine interest in supporting individuals with I/DD
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Must have a valid driver’s license and active car insurance
- Must be willing to drive to multiple client homes throughout Lackawanna County
- Open-minded and comfortable supporting individuals with varying personal-care and behavioral-support needs
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background checks
- Physical ability to assist with lifting or transfers if needed
- CPR/First Aid certification (training provided)
- 1 year of caregiving experience preferred (not required—training provided)

- $16.50–$18.00 per hour
- $1,000 signing bonus for qualified candidates

- Various hours, flexible scheduling
- Morning, afternoon, or evening shifts available
- Most clients require 4–10 hours per week, so DSPs must be willing to support multiple clients to build a consistent schedule
- 20+ hours per week available depending on caseload
- Signing Bonus Details
- $333 after 90 days (minimum 20 hours/week)
- $333 after 6 months (minimum 20 hours/week)
- $334 after 1 year (minimum 20 hours/week)
- Bonus not available for Residential Services or Relative as Provider (RAP) hires
- Applicants must not have worked for Abound Health or its affiliates within the past 18 months
