We are the daily news leader covering the communities of Cornwall, Akwesasne, and the United Counties of SDG. This is a full-time position, under our collective agreement with Local 555M, Teamsters/Graphics Communications Conference. What you’ll do: - You would be filing copy, photos, videos, and other multimedia elements for our website and print editions. - You will be expected to handle a wide variety of assignments from breaking news, features, sports, and community event coverage. - You'll be part of a three-person team focused on bringing our communities coverage they aren't getting from other local and regional media sources. - Your hours of work will be mostly during the day, but include evenings and weekends as required. - This is a remote-work position where you will need to attend events in-person within our coverage area. Given this, access to a reliable vehicle is required. • Produce news articles on weekends across film, streaming and television verticals • Monitor trending TV, Movies, Streaming news cycles, including casting announcements, trailers, release dates and renewals/cancellations • Ensure timely publication of relevant content aligned with SEO and engagement goals • Coordinate with editors and fellow writers to maintain consistent weekend coverage • Contribute to news ideation, sourcing and scheduling • Follow editorial and formatting guidelines rigorously

• Explore and document how RAGtime engages its existing datasets—federal litigation, statutes, regulations, Office of Legal Counsel opinions, and foreign-relations records—surfacing patterns, strengths, and gaps; • Experiment with new datasets: help identify, evaluate, and onboard new corpora of public records, and assess how they expand what the platform can do; • Develop use cases by working with senior editors and users to craft and refine the prompts and workflows that turn RAGtime into beneficial tools for research, reporting, and analysis; • Conduct data journalism and research analysis using RAGtime—finding stories, evidence, and insight in the primary-source record and helping translate them into Lawfare's published work; • Serve as a thought partner to the editor-in-chief and to volunteer software developers on the platform’s roadmap and capabilities; • Help keep current and new data pipelines up to date using AI-assisted (“vibe coding”) approaches—formal software-engineering experience is not required; • Gather and synthesize feedback from users to inform improvements and new features; • Contribute to platform documentation, user guidance, and, as needed, reporting on platform use for funders and stakeholders; • Take on other responsibilities as the platform grows.
