We are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our team. The Opportunity: We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic journalist for a full-time position within our newsroom. We are the daily news leader covering the communities of Cornwall, Akwesasne, and the United Counties of SDG. This is a full-time position, under our collective agreement with Local 555M, Teamsters/Graphics Communications Conference. What you’ll do: - You would be filing copy, photos, videos, and other multimedia elements for our website and print editions. - You will be expected to handle a wide variety of assignments from breaking news, features, sports, and community event coverage. - You'll be part of a three-person team focused on bringing our communities coverage they aren't getting from other local and regional media sources. - Your hours of work will be mostly during the day, but include evenings and weekends as required. - This is a remote-work position where you will need to attend events in-person within our coverage area. Given this, access to a reliable vehicle is required. Compensation: Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location. Base Salary: $35,724 This is a unionized position subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement.
