Senior Account Director

Role Description The Senior Account Director will have proven experience building on existing relationships, eliminating competitor threats within our customer base, and ensuring customer satisfaction. They will shape our future in providing solutions for account growth. Supervisory Responsibilities - Provide strategic direction and insights to develop Account Managers and Account Coordinators as assigned. - Cultivate innovation among the account team to guide customers through industry trends and best practices. - Provide oversight to Functional Teams, assign tasks, and review their work as needed. - Delegate ownership of client management components, and accountability for following through to completion. - Mentor Account Managers in developing their skills. - Motivate staff to produce successful materials for clients. Duties & Responsibilities - Serve as the trusted advisor for MarCom Group in representing this client account base. - Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients and partners by understanding their focus and anticipating their needs. - Coordinate internal and external resources to expedite workflow. - Manage ambiguity and transform it into effective solutions. - Actively evaluate company offerings to evolve with industry trends. - Illustrate the value of products and services to create growth opportunities; oversee and achieve organizational goals while upholding best practices. - Serve on the interview panel to recruit prospective Account team candidates as required. - Solve problems for clients by understanding and exceeding their expectations. - Work cross-functionally within the company, and with any vendors, to communicate client needs. - Provide strategic direction on the development of creative and media assets. - Prepare presentation materials and deliver briefings. - Follow up with clients regularly to ensure needs are being met and to identify opportunities. - Maintain a database of clients, prospects, partners, and vendors. - Generate and present program management reviews to senior leaders within the organization as required. - Communicate core competencies needed for each Account team member to advance their skills. Qualifications - Excellent analytical and time-management skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills to provide effective support to several client initiatives. - Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks and follow through to completion. - Ability to work independently, delegating and providing oversight where needed. - Strong initiative in mentoring Account Services team members. - Organized and able to manage complexity across multiple timelines, budgets, and schedules. - Strong knowledge of clientele and superior customer relationship development skills. - Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead. - Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions. - Ability to manage multiple accounts while seeking new opportunities. - Solid negotiation skills and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with clients and management. - Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local government contracting procedures, from proposal to award. - Experience overseeing budgets and expenses. - Experience developing internal processes and information management systems. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Aptitude for learning new communication or project management platforms as needed. Education & Experience - B.S. or B.A. in business, business administration, or related field; Master's degree is a plus. - 10+ years of experience in a related field. - 8+ years of relevant experience as an account manager, director, or related title in the industry. - Up to date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently. - Professional certification is a plus.
