Senior Power BI Developer
Point C
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards supporting healthcare, financial, and operational analytics. • Develop and optimize semantic models, relationships, measures, and calculated columns. • Create and maintain complex DAX measures aligned to healthcare KPIs such as utilization, claims, eligibility, quality, and financial performance. • Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, actionable analytics. • Ensure BI solutions follow best practices for performance, scalability, usability, and security. • Administer the Power BI Service, including workspace configuration, security, dataset refreshes, user access, and row-level security. • Monitor report and dataset performance and resolve refresh, gateway, and licensing issues. • Establish and maintain Power BI standards, documentation, and governance practices. • Support deployments across development, test, and production environments. • Perform other duties as assigned in support of analytics and business initiatives.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience developing and supporting Power BI solutions.
- Advanced experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service; experience with Power BI Embedded, Premium, and/or Microsoft Fabric preferred.
- Strong SQL and T-SQL development skills, including complex queries, data cleansing, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles for relational and dimensional data structures.
- Experience with Azure-based data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Databricks, Data Factory, or Synapse preferred).
- Strong understanding of Power BI administration, security, row-level security, dataset refresh, gateways, apps, and deployment pipelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate directly with business stakeholders.
- Self-directed, analytical problem solver with the ability to own issues end-to-end. Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant environments, PHI protection, and healthcare data security standards.
- Experience with healthcare data, claims, payers, providers, PBMs, TPAs, or claims adjudication processes preferred.
- Microsoft Power BI, Azure, or Power Platform certifications preferred.
