Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields
- Proven experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Engineering applied to the analytical layer
- Advanced SQL skills for development, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex queries
- Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery
- Experience with Dataform or dbt for developing data transformations
- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling (Star Schema) and Data Warehousing
- Experience building Fact and Dimension tables, views, and analytical layers
- Experience building ELT pipelines
- Experience developing executive and analytical dashboards using Power BI
- Familiarity with Git for code versioning
- Experience gathering requirements and interacting with business stakeholders
- Experience with agile methodologies, especially Scrum

Role Description The Business Intelligence Developer will play a pivotal role in CAI’s internal technology team. Partnering across the enterprise, this role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and analytical views that enable data-driven decision making across CAI’s business units. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BI Developer (Databricks) to join our IT team. This position will be full-time, remote, and is a salaried position. This is a remote position with the requirement to work East Coast hours. What You'll Do - Design, develop, and maintain interactive reports, dashboards, and analytical views in Power BI that support business decision making across CAI’s functional areas. - Build and optimize SQL queries and data views within the Databricks Lakehouse platform to support downstream reporting and analytics use cases. - Collaborate with Data Engineers to understand data models, medallion architecture patterns (bronze/silver/gold layers), and available data assets for reporting purposes. - Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, define key metrics, and translate business needs into clear, actionable visualizations. - Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports and dashboards prior to stakeholder delivery. - Maintain and enhance existing reports and dashboards based on evolving business requirements, user feedback, and platform updates. - Contribute to the development of standardized reporting templates, naming conventions, and best practices across the BI environment. - Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner. - Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and team knowledge-sharing sessions to support continuous improvement within the Data & Analytics team. - Document report definitions, data sources, business logic, and technical decisions to maintain institutional knowledge and support team collaboration. - Support end-user adoption by providing training guidance and responding to ad hoc reporting requests as needed. • Serve as the primary operator of the GCP data environment: BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, and Cloud Storage, in close partnership with IT on security and access • Write and maintain Python-based ETL pipelines pulling from source platforms (Toggl, Rippling, Xero, Salesforce, and others) and landing data in BigQuery • Extend the pipeline portfolio to bring new data sources online and unlock reporting capabilities that do not currently exist • Automate recurring operational workflows currently running manually or locally: scheduled data quality checks, automated exports, and replacing one-off scripts with reliable GCP functions • Own the full Tableau dashboard portfolio across all internal teams: data connections, SQL, refresh schedules, QC, documentation, and bug resolution • Build net-new dashboards for audiences that don't have reliable reporting today, including executive, director, and operational views covering project financials, service line performance, and renewal visibility • Own data integrity within the analytics layer: diagnose whether issues are pipeline problems, dashboard logic problems, or source data issues, and route accordingly • Maintain naming conventions, schema documentation, and dataset organization in BigQuery • Be the first point of contact when a dashboard breaks or a pipeline fails — own resolution, not just escalation • Partner with stakeholders across Business Operations, Finance, People & Talent, Sales, and IT to translate business needs into working data solutions
