Role Description SSA Group is looking for a talented Retail District Manager to join our team in the Central/West Region. The Retail District Manager leads multiple retail locations across a defined region, ensuring strong team performance, exceptional guest service, and alignment with client expectations. This role drives financial outcomes, supports operational excellence, and cultivates a team culture rooted in SSA’s values. Leadership & Communication - Creates a motivating, energetic, and enthusiastic team environment that promotes a high-performance culture and aligns with company goals. - Communicates effectively across all levels, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with company and client priorities. - Demonstrates professionalism and leads by example in demeanor, ethics, and accountability. - Owns outcomes and models adaptability, seeking feedback and development opportunities. - Shares key account changes or updates (e.g., leadership transitions, major client events) with executive leadership in a timely manner. Client Focus - Builds trust-based relationships with clients, understanding and aligning retail operations with their mission and objectives. - Collaborates with client partners and internal teams to support account retention and strategic growth. - Attends industry events (AZA, IAAPA, ASTC, AAM) as appropriate to support current and prospective client engagement. - Participates in RFP presentations, remodel communications, and Momentum Meetings. Financial Oversight & Business Analysis - Leads payroll and staffing strategy by partnering with Retail Managers to align labor costs with payroll percentage targets, optimize schedules, and drive profitability. - Uses measurable metrics such as labor, cost of goods (COG), per capita spend (PerCap), and revenue to budget to evaluate and enhance financial performance. Sales & Guest Experience - Coaches and reinforces SSA’s Service standards to ensure consistent, memorable guest experiences. - Leads and supports sales strategy execution through training, role modeling, and performance evaluation. - Uses available tools and reporting to identify trends, address issues, and leverage growth opportunities. - Monitors and enhances daily floor supervision and execution of selling behaviors. People & Team Development - Supports talent development by coaching and training Retail Managers using SSA tools and hands-on mentoring. - Anticipates staffing needs, leads succession planning, and collaborates on strategic hiring efforts. - Provides ongoing performance feedback and guidance through regular touchpoints and site visits. - Resolves team relations issues timely and professionally, ensuring a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Operations & Compliance - Maintains consistency in operational execution, policy adherence, and inventory control. - Ensures compliance with loss prevention, POS, and safety protocols across all units. - Communicates essential operational updates (sales results, training tools, mystery shops) to store teams. - Conducts site visits and provides feedback to Retail Managers, GMs, and leadership. - Strategizes placement and merchandising of carts, tents, and seasonal exhibits. - Observes competitive landscapes at peer attractions to inform strategy. Visual Merchandising & Buying - Ensures compliance with visual merchandising standards and maintains store presentation per company guidelines. - Partners with Creative Director and Buyers on store layouts, signage, assortment, and inventory levels. - Supports all transitions, temporary stores, and exhibit launches in collaboration with the merchandising team. - Trains store teams on visual merchandising principles. Qualifications - Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a district or multi-unit role. - Strong leadership and team development skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to analyze financial data and drive profitability. - Experience in guest service and sales strategy execution. Requirements - Availability to travel within the defined region. - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. - Proficiency in retail management software and reporting tools. The Role The District Manager, Parts and Service (DMPS) is a strategic field leadership role responsible for driving aftersales performance across a defined region.
