• Develop, ship, and maintain features and improvements for Agent Observability and Interactions across both the GitLab monolith backend and the AI gateway in a secure, well-tested, and performant way. • Collaborate with Product Management, UX, frontend, backend, and AI specialists to refine requirements and deliver high-quality, iterative product enhancements. • Design, implement, and review GraphQL, REST APIs and related backend logic, ensuring reliability, scalability, and clear contracts with frontend clients. • Improve and extend automated testing, including RSpec and other frameworks, to strengthen quality, reliability, and developer feedback loops. • Share standards, patterns, and learnings with other engineers, raising the bar for responsible AI integration and evidence-driven engineering across the team. • Participate in Tier 2 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues, contribute to root cause analysis, and enhance observability and resiliency

Role Description This is a permanent full time remote opportunity for those based in Italy. As a Senior Engineer at Nearform your main task will be designing & building applications using Golang. Qualifications - Significant experience delivering at a Senior Engineer level. Our Seniors typically have at least 6 years’ commercial experience. - Practical experience of delivering in an agile environment. - Practical experience and knowledge of developing real-world solutions. - Deep knowledge and experience with Golang. - Experience with Next.js. - Strong AI in SDLC skills. - Deep understanding of versioning control tools - e.g. Git. - Testing experience and familiarity with testing tools at all levels, unit, integration and end to end testing. - Practical and real world experience working with databases and cloud environments. - Experience with automation, CI and CD. - Experience building software collaboratively using pull requests and code reviews. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Professional proficiency in English. • Technical Leadership: Lead project execution by driving RFCs, design docs (HLD/LLD), and execution plans for the product development team, ensuring strict adherence to best practices and standards in engineering. • System Architecture & Scale: Design, build, and maintain highly concurrent, low-latency backend systems capable of processing massive transactional throughput. • Core Engineering & Influence: Influence technical decisions and project direction based on your backend expertise utilizing Ruby on Rails and Go (Golang), but not limited to them.
