Senior Development Engineer - Mechanical Engineering

• Coordinate technical requirements and assess feasibility. • Manage internal interfaces and oversee complex development projects through to series production. • Work closely with Sales, Production, Procurement and Customers. • Ensure that technical requirements are developed into marketable products. • Serve as the central technical contact for demanding customers in high‑tech future industries. • Evaluate new and complex customer inquiries for technical feasibility and economic viability. • Provide technical support from the design and concept phase through to series readiness. • Develop technically and economically optimal manufacturing strategies, including make-or-buy decisions. • Manage technical alignment between Sales, Production, Procurement, Quality, Research and Development. • Assume final technical responsibility for complex products and assemblies. • Coordinate internal and external technical interfaces to ensure well‑founded decision‑making.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or completed vocational training in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., HTL, FH or TU).
  • Several years of professional experience in design engineering, product development or special-purpose machine/plant engineering.
  • Practical experience in design, manufacturing or joining technology with a solid understanding of tolerances and technical feasibility.
  • Experience in project management or technical leadership of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent CAD skills and experience with PDM, PLM or ERP systems.
  • Structured, analytical and solution-oriented working style with strong logical thinking abilities.
  • High level of personal responsibility, hands‑on mentality and a confident presence as a technical interface.
  • German and English at business-fluent/negotiation level.
