• Perform meticulous, detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural, structural, and civil construction plans for large-scale residential and community projects. • Prepare comprehensive, professional material and quantity breakdowns in Excel format, delivering clean data structures ready for final pricing assignments. • Lead vendor outreach to proactively source, track, and update material pricing, product data, and material specifications. • Manage essential pre-construction documentation, including processing RFIs (Requests for Information) and compiling submittal packages. • Track project timelines and deliverables across the entire estimation funnel, ensuring deadlines are met for fast-moving bidding cycles. • Calculate specialized civil and site requirements, including precise linear footage and area calculations for extensive community infrastructure.
Job Requirements
- Proven professional estimation experience specifically focused on residential, civil infrastructure, or community development projects for the U.S. market.
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related technical field is highly preferred.
- Exceptional mastery of material calculations, quantity takeoffs, and translating complex blueprints into highly organized Excel spreadsheets.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with standard digital takeoff software.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal) for seamless daily collaboration, internal reporting, and vendor relations.

Role Description This position will be a work from home role. The ideal candidate must be highly self-motivated, disciplined and capable of managing deadlines, priorities and workload independently while maintaining consistent communication with builders, vendors and internal teams. The Plumbing Estimator is responsible for reviewing plans, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for new construction residential plumbing projects, including single-family homes, multifamily developments, and townhomes. This role works closely with builders, vendors, and internal operations teams to ensure bids align with project scope, company standards, and profitability goals. Duties/Responsibilities - Blueprint & Plan Review: Analyze architectural, plumbing, and civil plans to determine the full scope of work for underground, rough-in, top-out, trim, gas, and final plumbing phases. - Scope Development: Identify plumbing system requirements including water, waste, vent, gas, and fixture installations for residential homes and townhome developments. - Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed material takeoffs for piping, fixtures, fittings, valves, water heaters, and specialty plumbing components. - Cost Estimating: Calculate labor, materials, equipment, permits, and subcontractor costs to ensure accurate and profitable bids. - Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit complete bid proposals to homebuilders, general contractors, and developers within deadlines. - Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Obtain pricing from vendors and suppliers to secure competitive material costs. - Value Engineering: Identify cost-effective alternatives and efficiencies while maintaining code compliance and installation quality. - Builder Communication: Coordinate with builders, project managers, and field teams to clarify plans, specifications, and scope changes. - Budget Tracking: Assist with reviewing awarded projects against estimated costs to improve future bid accuracy. - Code Compliance: Maintain knowledge of local plumbing codes, municipal requirements, and builder specifications.
