• Translate complex technical information into high-quality documentation and UI text—including release notes, tooltips, and error messages—tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences • Enhance documentation usability and clarity by integrating strategic graphics, illustrations, and visual aids • Collaborate cross-functionally with SMEs in Engineering, Field Support, Sales, and Product Marketing to ensure technical accuracy and content relevance • Drive user experience by establishing documentation standards, style guides, and terminology to ensure consistency across all platforms • Lead and mentor the technical writing team while overseeing project scheduling and management to ensure the timely delivery of all documentation initiatives

Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizen with 3+ years of technical writing experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field (certifications included)
  • Demonstrated leadership through mentoring and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and project outcomes without formal authority
  • Technical expertise in REST API documentation, with deep hands-on proficiency in OpenAPI Specification (Swagger) and JSON
  • Advanced workflow management using JIRA and Confluence to track, manage, and deliver documentation projects
  • Strategic, audience-centric approach to content, ensuring all documentation is written in direct context with the target user's specific needs and technical level

The Help Desk KB aims to be consistent, accessible, clear, and connected. A Student Lead Technical Writer is responsible for day-to-day KB maintenance, as well as assisting with projects that improve our support-centered KnowledgeBase. Student Lead Technical Writers have opportunities to build and demonstrate communication skills, which are essential to any future job search.
