Role Description The National Business Statistics Analyst will be reporting to the Thailand Programme Coordinator, with a matrix coordination line to the Gender Statistics Specialist in the Women’s Economic Empowerment Section at the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. In close coordination with UN Women and national stakeholders, the National Business Statistics Analyst will assist with conducting a diagnostic assessment of data ecosystems, including data governance, for the production of business statistics in official statistics in Thailand. - Conduct a diagnostic assessment of data ecosystems. - Identify challenges and opportunities for integrating gender, disability, and intersectionality in business statistics. - Support the development of an evidence-informed assessment of institutional and governance arrangements. - Assess administrative workflows and current processes for business registration. - Contribute to stakeholder interviews with key national stakeholders. - Provide input to an assessment of the feasibility of the data ecosystem. - Contribute to the production of a structured overview of the business registry data model. - Support the organization of validation workshops of key findings. - Identify gaps and practical options to strengthen data governance. - Contribute to the drafting of an action plan with prioritized recommendations. Qualifications - Advanced university degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics is required. - A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Requirements - At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in business statistics or administrative data ecosystems. - Experience in the production of official statistics is an advantage. - Experience in conducting gender analysis with expertise on GEDSI assessments is an advantage. - Familiarity with Thailand's legal frameworks and stakeholders related to women's economic empowerment is an advantage. - Strong understanding of women’s economic empowerment or procurement systems is desirable. - Fluency in English and Thai is required. - Knowledge of any other UN official language is an asset.
