Lead Engineer – Nuclear Deterministic Safety Analysis

• Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses • Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses • Deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines • Utilize unique opportunities to create and/or improve cutting-edge automation and methods • Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations • Perform technical verification of engineering technical deliverables • Prepare, communicate, and present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions • Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions • Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
Job Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar)
- At least 5 years of relevant nuclear experience
- Access to U.S. export-controlled information (final offers contingent on obtaining authorization)
- Master's degree in engineering; or Senior Reactor Operator Certification (desired)
- Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes (desired)
- Experience with BWR Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses (desired)
- Knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response (desired)
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of nuclear engineering (desired)
- Experience in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques (desired)
- Experience with standard engineering work planning and design process techniques (desired)
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements (desired)
- Experience with BWR/PWR T-H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP & TRACE (desired)
- Experience in Best Estimate methodology development (e.g., TRACG) (desired)
- Experience with Containment codes such as GOTHIC (desired)
- Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON (desired)
