Principal Engineer – IT Infrastructure

• Responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in strategy and standards development • Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems, applications, and networks • Oversee the technical aspects of relevant systems and ensure they are secure, scalable, and reliable • Provide guidance on the latest technologies and trends in the industry • Lead technical projects, manage vendor relationships, and communicate effectively with stakeholders • Mentor fellow engineers • Anticipate user’s and client’s needs during solution building • Ensure systems are available and performing as expected • Identify and implement new technologies that improve efficiency and effectiveness
Job Requirements
- 10+ Year’s experience in relevant technology functions
- Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining complex IT systems
- Experience in multiple technical areas such as infrastructure, software development, security, and cloud technologies preferred
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers
- Experience in working on technical projects from inception to completion
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Extensive experience in working with IT vendors and service providers preferred
- Extensive experience in assisting in the management of IT budgets

Role Description We are looking for a VMware Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization, software-defined networking, and software-defined storage platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. The role covers: - vSphere - vSAN - NSX - Aria - Tanzu The focus is on automation, capacity management, and the practical realities of operating a large VMware estate alongside modern cloud-native workloads. The ideal candidate has operated VMware platforms at enterprise scale, navigates the evolving VMware product landscape pragmatically, and brings strong automation and operations discipline. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. - Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience. - Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi. - Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management. - Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking. - Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling. - Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms. - Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM. - Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
