Simulation Researcher/Engineer SF Bay Area, CA • Remote, International • Singapore, SGP Research Remote • Hybrid Full-time THE ROLE We're building a sufficiently faithful, controllable simulation of the world — on top of Luma's generative video and 3D models — as the substrate for training general-purpose robot policies. As a Simulation Researcher/Engineer, you'll help define what that substrate looks like. You will sit at the boundary between generative models and classical physics simulation, and you'll be one of the people who decides where each one earns its keep. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Design simulation environments that are visually rich, physically plausible, and trainable at scale — a hybrid of generative rollouts and physics-engine-based scenes. - Build the evaluation harness that tells us whether our world model is good enough to train robots on (sim-to-real gap, physical consistency, long-horizon coherence). - Develop differentiable and GPU-accelerated simulation pipelines where they unlock new training signal. - Drive the asset, scene, and task generation pipelines — including using Luma's own generative stack to bootstrap diversity. - Collaborate with world-model researchers (upstream) and policy-learning researchers (downstream). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Strong background in robotics simulation, computer graphics, physics-based modeling, or generative 3D — degree or equivalent practical record. - Fluency in Python and C++; deep familiarity with at least one production physics engine (Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo, Bullet, PhysX, Drake). - Track record of building simulation systems other people actually used. PREFERRED - Research on sim-to-real transfer, domain randomization, differentiable simulation, or neural-rendering-based simulation. - Game engine, CGI, animation, or photogrammetry background. - Publications at top venues (CoRL, RSS, ICRA, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH). Compensation The base pay range for this role is $250,000 – $450,000 per year.

Role Description The Senior Lead Engineer provides support for solution development and deployment of telecom, professional services, Cyber and IT solutions for Large Systems Integrators, and Public Sector customers. Serve as a technical advisor responsible for architecting and designing solutions that achieve the client’s business needs and goals within the Public Sector Solution Integration team. Main Responsibilities - Provide project leadership and direction for the design, development, delivery, and sustainment of high-fidelity simulation test and verification of products. - Act as a voice SME with experience across voice technologies. - Create high-level requirements and oversee project execution. - Manage cost, schedule, and technical execution of projects for internal and external customers. - Support Lumen Public Sector internal organizations to develop custom solutions and evaluate PRFP and RFP documents. - Validate customer requirements and provide a compliant, competitive solution addressing those requirements. - Directly interface with Government customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal Lumen cross-functional teams. - Evaluate new and emerging technologies in network, cloud, edge, and security. - Hands-on deployment, testing, and integration of innovative technologies in a lab environment. - Document all lab-tested solutions for future standardization and productization. - Present all Lumen proposed solutions in a professional manner. - Provide support to installation personnel as needed to clarify service expectations. Qualifications - Exceptional knowledge in Managed and Professional Services including (but not limited to) SIEM, EDR/XDR, SD-WAN, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Awareness, Cloud Security, Cloud (Private/Public/Hybrid). - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and presentation). - Knowledge of various vendor equipment including (but not limited to) Juniper, Cisco, Aruba, Palo-Alto. - Knowledge of telecommunications equipment, operation, procedures, and practices. - Ability to present customer information on project status in various forms such as MS Power Point briefings, MS Project schedules, MS Visio drawings, and MS Excel. - BS in Telecommunications or equivalent work experience (8 years’ experience in telecommunications O&M, installation, and engineering). - Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple opportunities simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications - Relevant certifications in Cloud, Security, and Network technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solution Architect, CCNP, JNCIP). - US Citizenship required. - Minimal travel may be required. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
