Key Responsibilities - End-to-End Client Accounts and Project Ownership: Lead cross-functional projects, including program definition, roadmap planning, resource allocation, and execution. - AI & Technology Enablement: Work on projects leveraging AI/ML technologies and integrating them into yours and the organisation's regular work stream. - Delivery Management: Understand, clarify and articulate the requirements to the leads and developers, assist in scoping, schedule preparation, ensuring quality, and deployment excellence across the service and product offerings. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the clients, sales, tech leaders, developers, QA engineers, product managers, business teams, and external vendors to align priorities and drive execution. - Process Optimization & Automation: Identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and enhance testing and release processes to improve delivery speed and efficiency. - Strategic Planning & Execution: Define and implement quality, release metrics, and process improvements to reduce time-to-market while ensuring operational excellence. - Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Act as a technical problem solver, resolving project deadlocks and constraints through consensus and sound judgment. - Release Management: Drive planning of major/minor and maintenance release windows, ensuring alignment across multiple teams. - Data-Driven Execution: Collect and analyze data to track project performance and make informed business decisions. - Communication & Documentation: Maintain structured documentation and provide regular program updates to leadership teams. Qualifications - Technical Background: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Project & Program Management: 5+ years of experience managing technical projects, driving cross-functional collaboration, and implementing release strategies. - Account Management: Build good rapport with the existing clients and the prospects leading to new opportunities discovery, conversion, upselling, and cross-selling. Review the delivery progress, successful onboarding, periodic invoicing and collections check. - AI/ML Exposure: Experience or familiarity with AI-driven solutions and automation tools. - Deep Hands-on Technical Expertise: Ability to understand and work with SMEs on frontend, backend, cloud, and infrastructure technologies. - Agile & Release Management: Experience managing Agile methodologies, participate and/or conduct the daily standups, promptly update the incident management tools, prepare work breakdown structure for complex and timebound tasks/projects, perform root cause analyses, initiate preventive and corrective actions. - Strong Communication & Collaboration: Ability to convey the technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Good verbal and written communication with attention to detail. - Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail: Ability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and optimize workflows. - Self-Driven & Proactive Mindset: Ability to handle multiple competing priorities, operate independently, and swiftly. Timely remediation of the incidents, ensuring on time delivery including the client and the internal assigned tasks. - Documentation: Ensure all the accounts and project related details are up-to-date and documented. Drafting the contracts and SoWs, RCAs, reports and metrics update. Nice-to-Have Qualifications - Technical Program Management Experience: 2+ years in an ATPM / TPM role handling large-scale programs. - Automation & Scripting: Experience with Python, Selenium, or user-level automation. - Cloud & AI Enablement: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure and AI/ML model deployment. Salary: $64,000–$68,500 per year Job Description: What We Can Achieve Together: The Reconnected Rivers Program Associate is a key position for the growth of The Nature Conservancy’s Reconnected Appalachian Rivers Strategy, serving both the West Virginia Business Unit and the Appalachians Program. This position represents an opportunity to help accelerate freshwater restoration across the Appalachians by advancing projects that reconnect rivers, improve aquatic habitat and benefit communities. The Program Associate will work closely with other TNC staff, partner organizations and agencies, engineering firms, contractors and community groups to restore connectivity to enable aquatic organism passage and enhance flood resilience in high-priority streams and rivers. The Program Associate will advance the objectives of the Appalachians Free Rivers Accelerator, a regional initiative that works with partners to accelerate dam removal and reconnect rivers throughout the Appalachians. - Two-year term position with a possibility to renew.  - Early application is encouraged as applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. - Work Location:  This position will be based in West Virginia and working out of the Elkins office at least one day per week, with occasional travel throughout West Virginia and the region. We’re Looking for You: Based in West Virginia, 50% of the Program Associate’s responsibilities will focus on building a new Reconnected Rivers program for the West Virginia Business Unit by working with key partners to Identify, envision, develop, oversee and support dam removal, culvert replacement and floodplain restoration projects in priority landscapes. The other 50% of the Program Associate’s responsibilities will focus on supporting a key initiative of the Appalachians Program—the Free Rivers Accelerator—by advancing dam removal projects in two or three additional Appalachian states. Responsibilities and Scope: West Virginia: - As part of the West Virginia Business Unit, the Program Associate will report primarily to the Director of Conservation Programs and coordinate with Conservation, Finance, Marketing/Communications, Operations, Development and Policy staff as needed. - Serve as a member of West Virginia’s Conservation Team, contributing river conservation skills and expertise to support the team’s work to protect, manage and restore critical lands and waters. - Support, lead and/or manage projects with partners as they progress through project development and planning, grant-writing and proposal development, contracting, project design, permitting, construction, monitoring and evaluation. Appalachians Program: - Within the Appalachians Program, the Program Associate will report secondarily to the Director of the Appalachians Free Rivers Accelerator and coordinate with relevant Appalachians staff and supported Business Units. - Work with statewide networks, TNC Business Units, engineering firms and partners to identify priority projects, support early engineering and grant development, track project progress and help ensure successful completion of project deliverables. - Help identify and advance a portfolio of priority dam removal projects in approximately two or three states.
