Posting Location: Nashville, TN What You’ll Do: - Serves as project manager and/or project engineer with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact. May have project management responsibilities on multiple projects, depending on assignment. - Responsible for project schedules and the timely completion of projects. - Assists in the coordination of estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects. - Assists in the preparation of engineering agreements for projects. - Provides street and highway design engineering analysis and computations and will be the Engineer of Record on some projects. - Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for various projects. - May delegate and/or supervise the work of other engineers’ activities. - Actively participates in supporting business development efforts, attends client and organizational meetings, and makes presentations in support of the client and projects. - Visits construction sites to monitor progress and perform other duties per contract documents What You’ll Need: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil, Transportation, or Traffic Engineer program - 8-20 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience - Experience working on and with TDOT, county, and/or local agency projects/clients is preferred - Licensed Professional Engineer, PE - Ability to manage and collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Clients, and Administrators - Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously - Working experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, CONNECT, and ORD preferred Who We Are Join Farnsworth Group, a nationally recognized architectural, engineering, and surveying firm, where your career can thrive! • Prepare design and construction drawings for utility networks (water, wastewater, district heating, gas, power corridors), including longitudinal and cross profiles • Perform hydraulic and technical calculations; develop pipe network and connection concepts • Support preparation of specifications/bills of quantities, cost estimates and tender documentation • Coordinate with clients, utility providers and authorities • Quality-check planning documents and ensure compliance with technical standards and requirements • Support construction supervision and participate in site meetings and visits • Document and maintain project data; contribute to BIM/GIS integrations • Participate in internal knowledge-sharing and training activities
