Sr. Network Engineer

Entrust

In this role, you’ll take ownership of deploying, configuring, and managing client networks. You’ll be the person clients rely on to keep their environments running smoothly day-to-day, and the one they turn to when something complex needs attention. Lead troubleshooting efforts, handle Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalations, and guide root-cause analysis when issues arise. Support upgrades, capacity planning, and lifecycle management to shape how networks evolve. Document network topologies, configurations, and procedures to keep them clear and up to date. Work closely with client teams, offering mentorship and helping elevate their technical capabilities. Support procurement, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement efforts. Oversee FTTX installation and upgrade projects. Help maintain CGNAT platforms to ensure high-speed, reliable performance.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of network support experience in a Service Provider/Carrier environment with a focus on designing, deploying, & operating large-scale networks at OSI model Layers 1 through 3.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP, EVPN) and firewalls.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware.
  • In-depth knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering against mission-critical deadlines.
  • Proven experience working in a team environment and solving problems with limited supervision.
  • Strong communications, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
  • Expert analytical skills to diagnose complex routing and connectivity issues.
  • Must have a firm grasp of network security principles and practices.
  • CCNA, JNCIA, CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of 40/100/400G Ethernet, CWDM, DWDM, and optical transport network technologies.
  • Experience with field-based work in Data Centers, Colocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, or Central Offices.
  • Experience configuring & supporting FTTX GPON/XGS-PON access gear from Adtran, Calix, and/or Nokia.
  • Advanced experience configuring & supporting backbone routing gear from Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and/or Nokia.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl).
  • Technical leadership capabilities and people management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Network Address translation techniques (NAT44 and NAT64).

  • This position pays between $100,000 and $125,000 annually and is an exempt position.

  • HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available.
