Job Description

Finance Accountant

Wishpond (TSXV:WISH)

• Daily monitoring of cash balances across all entities • Bank matching and Xero reconciliations across all entities • Payment setup: AP runs, contractor payments, affiliate payments, wire and ACH/EFT setup • Virtual credit card management, monitoring and allocating charges, and ensuring correct entity coding • Senior lender certificate preparation • Master bank reconciliation maintenance across all entities • Managing the multi-entity intercompany allocation model, including people cost, software, subcontractor, SDR, and insurance allocations • Preparing and posting journal entries across all entities: accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, revenue reclasses, affiliate payments, and expense allocations • Revenue entries and period-end reconciliations across all business units • Stock-based compensation journal entries and SBC expense schedule maintenance • Variance analysis preparation and comment clearing for all entities monthly • Aged payables review and follow-up • Accrual reversal accuracy review and accruals breakdown • Software subscription expense analysis and FP&A close support • Quarterly GST preparation and filing for all entities • Monthly US sales tax accrual and quarterly sales tax analysis (Canada and US) • Monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations • FX forward contract monitoring and fair value assessment at period end • Annual audit support, working papers and audit evidence packages for both companies • Quarterly consolidation support, consolidated trial balance and related party schedules • Certain people cost, commissions, and payment preparation and reconciliations across entities • Proactively identifying and implementing AI-assisted workflows and automations to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of Finance operations • Supporting the development and maintenance of automated workbooks and reporting tools across the Finance function • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or SaaS/tech environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of IFRS / accrual-basis accounting, you know why things are done, not just how
  • Comfortable with Xero or a comparable cloud accounting platform (training available on our specific setup)
  • You solve problems before escalating, you know the difference between a flag that needs a decision and a question you can answer yourself
  • You hit deadlines without being chased; a compressed month-end close window is normal, not a crisis
  • AI-first mindset, you use tools to work faster and smarter, and you actively look for automation opportunities
  • Must be very detail-oriented, creative, and have a passion for helping others achieve their goals
  • Self-motivated with the ability to establish and maintain solid relationships through a client-first mentality
  • As part of a diverse team, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent accounting designation in progress is a strong asset
  • Experience with payroll processing or commissions is an asset
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset
