Medicines Management Pharmacist
Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience
• Support the safe, effective use of medicines across Psychiatry UK • Providing clinical, operational, and governance support under the direction of the Lead Pharmacist • Contribute to medicines safety, prescribing quality, and regulatory compliance across the organisation • Support the development of the medicines optimisation strategy, implementation and evaluation • Assist in the review and monitoring of prescribing practices to ensure compliance with legislation and organisational standards • Support the management of medicines-related incidents and complaints • Contribute to the analysis of prescribing trends and escalation of risks to the Lead Pharmacist • Assist in responding to MHRA Drug Alerts and Medicines Recalls • Support the management of medicines shortages, including risk assessment and identification of suitable alternatives • Be a point of contact as expert knowledge to answer queries related to prescribing and medicines management from other healthcare professionals • Work in collaboration with partner organisations and healthcare stakeholders to ensure the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care • Support responses to external medication-related queries • Audit, quality improvement, and data support for medicines-related audit programmes • Maintain and develop advanced clinical pharmacy knowledge to support safe, effective and patient-centred care
Job Requirements
- A Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree and have completed one year of pre-registration training
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
- Be engaging, compassionate and caring when communicating with patients, families and carers
- The successful candidate will be able to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Work independently while taking ownership of tasks and projects
- Think critically to solve complex problems
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Relevant experience in mental health, enabling management of complex medicines issues and queries
- Understanding of relevant legislation, risk management and best practice in prescribing and medicines management
- Experience conducting clinical audit and data analysis
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Advanced digital skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

Role Description Provides local oversight of the 340B program. This position will utilize 340B software to maintain program compliance according to OPA. Baptist Health is looking for a Remote 340B Program Coordinator to join our Pharmacy Team! Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Split-Billing Software Maintenance. - Ensures that the 340B pharmacy program is continuously compliant with 340B federal regulations. - Develops, executes, and documents self-audits of the 340B process. Coordinates and ensures remediation of findings. - Reviews and monitors all points of service where 340B participation occurs to ensure policy and procedure compliance, covered entity eligibility, and “covered patient” eligibility. - Responsible for managing and troubleshooting pharmacy billing issues and ensuring that adequate systems checks are reviewed to prevent billing issues. - Evaluates patient eligibility for qualified and non-qualified patients in hospital-based mixed-use areas by reviewing patient medical records, insurance plans, and hospital status. - Serves as the primary internal program coordinator and liaison for all 340B-related matters. - Assesses opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to yield higher compliance. - Collaborates with system and local leadership to improve and enhance service offerings. - Provides oversight for the implementation of process improvement initiatives. - Monitors purchasing records and clearly documents utilization, savings, problem areas, and exceptions or discrepancies. - Monitors inventory levels to effectively balance product availability and cost-efficient inventory control. - Serves as the point person and coordinator for all mock, HRSA, and manufacturer audits. - Maintains a current state of “audit readiness.” - Provides oversight for all audits performed by independent external auditors. - Assists in monitoring reports to ensure compliance with the program.
