Role Description As a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL), you will serve as a trusted scientific partner to Medical Experts and key healthcare stakeholders, enabling high-quality scientific exchange that advances patient care and supports Novartis’ commitment to reimagining medicine. In this field-based role, you will translate complex scientific data into meaningful clinical insights, support evidence generation activities, and strengthen Novartis’ scientific leadership through collaborative engagement with the medical community. Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute strategic Medical Expert engagement plans aligned with country medical priorities and therapeutic area strategy. - Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with Medical Experts, investigators, and key healthcare stakeholders through compliant, peer-to-peer scientific exchange. - Educate Medical Experts on emerging clinical data, disease state information, and approved scientific content. - Respond accurately and compliantly to unsolicited medical and scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals. - Support Novartis-sponsored clinical research programs through study site identification, feasibility activities, trial execution support, and scientific collaboration with clinical operations teams. - Facilitate Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) processes and provide scientific guidance upon investigator request. - Gather, synthesize, and communicate actionable medical insights from the field to inform medical strategy and evidence-generation plans. - Act as a scientific resource for cross-functional colleagues by providing therapeutic area expertise and clinical data interpretation. - Ensure timely reporting of technical complaints, adverse events, and special case scenarios related to Novartis products in accordance with company policies. - Maintain the highest standards of Ethics, Risk & Compliance, governance, and documentation requirements across all medical activities. Qualifications - Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline (MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc or equivalent). - Experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Medical Information, or a related scientific field within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. - Strong understanding of clinical research, clinical trial design, epidemiology, biostatistics, and drug development processes. - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information effectively to healthcare professionals and Medical Experts. - Experience building and maintaining professional relationships with external stakeholders and key opinion leaders. - Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across boundaries in a matrix environment. - Proficiency with CRM systems and other relevant digital tools. - Excellent medical writing, presentation, and scientific communication skills. - Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken. Requirements - Previous experience in a field-based Medical Scientific Liaison role. - Experience supporting Phase IV studies, investigator-sponsored research, or evidence-generation initiatives.
