Your role at DynatraceBindplane is the Swiss Army knife inside Dynatrace: small, focused, and built to move fast. We're creating the first truly unified OpenTelemetry-based observability pipeline, giving enterprises a single place to collect, process, and route telemetry data across complex environments. This role combines the speed, ownership, and creative freedom of a startup with the scale, resources, and expertise of Dynatrace. You'll benefit from mature design systems, user research capabilities, and a strong Design & Experience community while helping shape the future of observability. We're looking for a designer who codes, a product designer with strong frontend engineering skills who thrives at the intersection of UX and development. As a Senior Product Experience Designer, you'll own the end-to-end experience for a product domain, from user research and concept development through implementation in React. You'll transform complex technical workflows into intuitive, production-ready experiences that deliver value to customers. What You'll Do Craft & Impact - Own the end-to-end product experience for your domain, translating user needs and business goals into intuitive, scalable solutions. - Conduct research, identify customer pain points, prototype ideas, validate concepts, and ship production-ready experiences. - Build and maintain frontend applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with a strong focus on usability, performance, and accessibility (WCAG). - Contribute to and evolve Bindplane's component library and design system while leveraging Dynatrace design assets where appropriate. - Map user journeys, develop personas, and deepen understanding of customer workflows within observability and telemetry pipelines. - Monitor product experience metrics and continuously improve user outcomes. - Stay informed about industry trends, emerging UX practices, and competitive solutions. Collaboration - Partner closely with Product Managers, Backend Engineers, and fellow designers to deliver elegant, responsive user experiences. - Create clear prototypes, specifications, and reusable components that accelerate team execution. - Work iteratively, share work early, gather feedback often, and continuously refine solutions. - Engage with the Dynatrace Design & Experience community to share knowledge and contribute to design standards. - Participate in planning, estimation, and agile development processes. Influence - Clearly communicate design and technical decisions to product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders. - Build visibility through impactful work within Bindplane and the broader Dynatrace R&D organization. - Mentor junior designers and engineers on UX best practices, frontend quality, and user-centered thinking. - Advocate for design excellence and help drive adoption of research insights and shared design standards. What will help you succeedWhat You Bring: - 5+ years of combined experience in product/UX design and frontend development, with strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. - A portfolio of shipped product experiences. Not just designs, but working interfaces you've designed and built. - Solid grounding in UX principles: user research methods, journey mapping, persona development, usability testing, and translating findings into design decisions. - Experience with responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and frontend performance optimization. - Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, or other frontend-to-backend integration patterns. - Experience contributing to or extending design systems and component libraries. - Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. - Experience mentoring less-experienced engineers or designers. - Bonus: knowledge of observability, monitoring, OpenTelemetry, or SaaS infrastructure platforms. Why you will love being a Dynatracer - A one-product software company creating real value for the largest enterprises and millions of end customers globally, striving for a world where software works perfectly. - Working with the latest technologies and at the forefront of innovation in tech on scale; but also, in other areas like marketing, design, or research. - A team that thinks outside the box, welcomes unconventional ideas, and pushes boundaries. - An environment that fosters innovation, enables creative collaboration, and allows you to grow. - A globally unique and tailor-made career development program recognizing your potential, promoting your strengths, and supporting you in achieving your career goals. - A truly international mindset that is being shaped by the diverse personalities, expertise, and backgrounds of our global team. - A relocation team that is eager to help you start your journey to a new country, always there to support and by your side. - Attractive compensation packages and stock purchase options with numerous benefits and advantages. You'll work closely with our Games Web Platform Product Manager and Engineering partners to understand technical constraints in a legacy codebase, drive convergence on shared components and tokens, and improve the design-to-engineering handoff. You'll articulate design rationale and present your work to stakeholders across different teams and disciplines to ensure the effectiveness of the design system that brings clarity, consistency, and efficiency. Basic Qualifications: - 4+ years of relevant design experience working within cross-functional teams. - 3+ years experience working directly on design systems or platform/foundations work (components, tokens, patterns, or similar). - A portfolio of work that showcases your thought process along with finished design work. - Experience building, maintaining, and applying design systems in collaboration with engineering. - Fluent in UX design best practices and usability principles that responsively scale across mobile and web platforms. - Working knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design, especially as it applies to systems work (typography scales, contrast, motion, and semantics). - Advanced proficiency in Figma or equivalent design software. Preferred Qualifications: - You understand the constraints and opportunities of technologies used to build modern digital experiences. - Experience with front end coding. - Experience shaping team design practices (e.g., crits, documentation, templates) to move an organization toward more responsive, system-first work. - Experience collaborating on foundational refactors with platform or infrastructure teams (for example, typography or color system overhauls, or migrations to new component libraries). - Comfort working with engineers and understanding implementation tradeoffs – codified design intent through design tokens, component APIs, and reading through specs. - Experience documenting and delivering UI screens and specifications to engineers. - Advanced visual design skills, including typography, hierarchy, and layout. - Enthusiastic about the big picture and the smallest micro-interactions. REQ-020268 #LI-Hybrid The hourly rate of base pay for this role is: $65 - $87 USD For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock.
