Team Lead – Protection & Controls, Utility Substations
NEI Electric Power Engineering, Inc.
• Manage a team comprised of engineers, drafters, designers, and/or technicians • Ensure accurate, timely, and quality completion of Electrical Engineering scopes assigned to the team • Promote, implement, and reinforce internal processes and workflows that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency across the department • Assign work to and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff • Review and verify the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy • Support business development via Seller-Doer, assist with marketing tasks, and prepare proposals as needed • Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders • Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports • Maintain professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards, and construction practices
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
- 8+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
- FE is required, PE is preferred
- Knowledge and familiarity with voltage distribution above 240kV, switchgear, motor control centers, and industrial instrumentation and controls
- Ideally, experience with HB Substations for datacenters
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- High proficiency with power system software such as DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, EasyPower, ETAP or SKM, CDEGS, and CYMCAP preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and standard computer software
- Proven record of delivering a high standard of quality work with attention to detail
- Ability to develop staff through mentoring and coaching
- A strong command of the English language
- Good interpersonal and people skills
