Junior Civil Engineer

Arcadis is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join our growing Design Engineering Team. In this position, you will be responsible for interacting with internal and external stakeholders on civil design as well as interfacing with local jurisdictions regarding permitting and design plans. This position can work remotely or be based out of any of our U.S. offices. Provide design support on Industrial Infrastructure and Transit and Freight Rail projects throughout North America. Utilize a Design-Bid-Build or a Design-Build approach when developing design documentation. Review regulations and standards to support technical studies, design, and permitting activities. Use engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, simulation models) to prepare analyses and documents. Prepare Issued for Construction (IFC) plans, reports, specifications, and technical designs for civil/site and railroad projects. Conduct site inspections and attend jurisdictional or client meetings; travel up to 15% within North America.

Job Requirements

  • EIT license required.
  • Natural or acquired U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • Experience in industrial and commercial infrastructure design, construction, permitting, and plans examination.
  • Proficiency with project/document management platforms such as Civil 3D, ACC, Procore, BIM360, ProjectWise.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
  • Ability/experience in design detailing.
