• Assess coverage and review claims for purposes of investigations, action plans, evaluation, fraud, and claim resolution • Complete quality investigations by gathering pertinent information • Conduct thorough analysis of liability and continually assess exposure and evaluate for accurate reserves • Work toward the resolution of claims files and take full charge of claim from inception to resolution • Ensure that claims payments calculated accurately and are issued in a timely and accurate manner • Ensures compliance of claims handling pursuant to all state, legal, statutory, and regulatory bodies • Maintain a diary to follow claim progress on all claims • Determine liability for permanent disability, mitigation of costs and resolution of claim • Oversee litigation and coordination of claim with defense team
Job Requirements
- 5 years plus experience handling workers’ compensation claims
- Current California Adjuster Certification
- Familiarity with state workers’ compensation laws and regulations
- Strong skills in customer service, verbal and written communications, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Strong knowledge of computers and software

Role Description The Loss Adjuster plays a critical role in AgCentric’s claims operations by conducting field inspections, evaluating crop damage, and determining accurate indemnity payments in accordance with MPCI program guidelines. Salary Information The target salary range for this position is $71,225.00 - $82,500.00 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits. • Handles basic investigation regarding most aspects of auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) • Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills. • Partners to determine subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle. • Exhibits basic understanding of insurance policies written by the company. • Plays a key role in supporting customers during automobile accidents by thoroughly investigating each claim and confirming the facts of loss.
• Investigate and adjust property and casualty claims, both residential and commercial, with little to no supervision. • Inspect claims and contact involved parties in a timely manner. • Investigate circumstances of claims as required for coverage determination, cause, and compensable damages/reserves. • Examine insurance policies and other records to determine insurance coverage. • Prepare estimates for cost of repair and/or replacement. • Conduct interviews with claimants and witnesses regarding submitted claims. • Negotiate and settle both 1st and 3rd party claims. • Address salvage and subrogation as required by the client. • Maintain client relationships to assure repeated business referrals.
• Under the direction of the Pre-SIU Supervisor, the Pre-SIU Adjuster is responsible for conducting the initial investigation of automobile claims involving perils with a high propensity for fraud. • Identify potential fraud indicators, ensure timely and well-documented investigations. • Refer appropriate cases to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) for further handling. • Performs tasks such as social media investigations, database searches, credit checks, and background checks. • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve automobile claims related to theft, fire, vandalism, and other suspicious loss types. • Document investigations and findings while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and company policies.
