Financial Analyst Consultant

We are seeking a Financial Analyst Consultant to support a large, active healthcare IT implementation. This role will work closely with project leadership, IT stakeholders, and external vendors to manage financial tracking, procurement activities, and project spend oversight. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented analyst who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and has experience working directly with IS/IT vendors during complex implementations. Location is Baltimore, MD. If local, one day per week onsite is preferred. If not local, the preference would be for someone to be onsite one or two days per month, but that is flexible depending on level of skill set. Manage and track purchase orders (POs) associated with IT vendors and project services Monitor and reconcile vendor invoices against contracts and project budgets Maintain accurate financial tracking and reporting for implementation spend Support contract and vendor financial administration activities Track project financial performance and identify variances or risks Partner with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate spend management Assist with financial documentation, reporting, and audit readiness as needed Help maintain organized financial records within project tracking tools
Job Requirements
- Experience working directly with IS/IT vendors (required; top priority)
- Hands-on experience managing purchase orders, invoices, and spend tracking
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced project environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (tracking, reconciliation, reporting)
- Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and financial teams
- Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred
- Experience supporting EHR, ERP, or large-scale IT implementations
- Familiarity with procurement, financial tracking, or project financial management tools
- Experience working within healthcare systems or regulated environments
