Role Description Javvy is seeking a Business Intelligence Manager to own the integrity, governance, and strategic application of data across the organization. This individual will serve as the central steward of business intelligence, ensuring that every critical decision—from customer acquisition and retention to inventory planning, financial forecasting, profitability analysis, and retail expansion—is supported by accurate, trusted, and actionable data. As the company’s analytics leader, this person will oversee our business intelligence ecosystem, manage external analytics partners, establish reporting standards, and proactively uncover insights that drive profitable growth. They will be responsible for ensuring the business can confidently rely on the data used to make decisions while translating complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. This is a high-impact ownership role for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, challenging assumptions, creating clarity in fast-moving environments, and ensuring data accuracy at every level of the organization. What You'll Own - Business Intelligence Leadership - Own the company’s business intelligence strategy, reporting infrastructure, metric governance, and analytics standards. - Serve as the ultimate authority on KPI definitions, reporting logic, and data consistency across the organization. - Build trust across leadership teams by ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and decision-ready. - Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and external analytics partners. - Develop a deep understanding of Javvy’s business model, growth drivers, profitability metrics, customer behavior, and operational performance. - Lead the prioritization and execution of the company-wide analytics roadmap. - Data Integrity & Governance - Establish and maintain company-wide reporting standards, business rules, and metric definitions. - Own and enforce definitions for key metrics including revenue, CAC, MER, ROAS, LTV, contribution margin, retention, subscriptions, shipping, discounts, refunds, marketplace performance, and attribution methodologies. - Develop and maintain metric dictionaries, reporting documentation, business logic documentation, and governance processes. - Create rigorous validation, reconciliation, and QA processes that proactively identify discrepancies before they impact decision-making. - Ensure consistency across BigQuery, BI platforms, ecommerce systems, finance reporting, marketing attribution platforms, marketplaces, and analytics tools. - Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, tracking issues, missing data, duplicate events, and reporting inconsistencies. - Strategic Analytics & Business Insights - Partner closely with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, profitability drivers, operational inefficiencies, and emerging business trends. - Support forecasting, scenario planning, resource allocation, inventory planning, and strategic decision-making. - Analyze business performance across acquisition, conversion, retention, subscriptions, customer cohorts, product performance, marketplaces, operations, and finance. - Translate complex datasets into actionable business recommendations while clearly communicating assumptions, limitations, and confidence levels. - Proactively identify risks and opportunities before they become visible to the broader organization. - Analytics Operations & Agency Management - Manage the external analytics agency responsible for BigQuery architecture, ETL pipelines, data modeling, dashboard development, and reporting infrastructure. - Define project requirements, priorities, timelines, acceptance criteria, and success metrics for analytics initiatives. - Review and validate agency deliverables for accuracy, logic, documentation quality, naming consistency, and business relevance. - Maintain and prioritize the analytics roadmap across leadership, marketing, finance, operations, ecommerce, retail, and growth teams. - Ensure analytics projects are delivered on time, with clear requirements and measurable business value. - Escalate blockers and drive resolution to keep projects moving efficiently. - Reporting & Performance Intelligence - Develop and maintain executive reporting that provides visibility into: - Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) - Lifetime Value (LTV) - Marketing Efficiency Ratio (MER) - Contribution Margin - Retention & Cohort Performance - Subscription Health - Product Performance - Retail Performance - Marketplace Performance - Inventory & Supply Chain Metrics - Financial Performance - Build and maintain dashboards, recurring reporting, and executive-level visualizations. - Write and optimize SQL queries in BigQuery to answer business questions and support operational decision-making. - Deliver insights that help leadership make faster, more informed decisions. - Tracking & Analytics Infrastructure - Partner with developers and external analytics partners to maintain accurate event tracking and data collection systems. - Support implementation, validation, and QA for GTM, pixels, server-side tracking, browser-based tracking, webhooks, and related analytics infrastructure. - Oversee funnel reporting, customer journey analysis, and event taxonomy management within platforms such as Amplitude or PostHog. - Identify tracking gaps and opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, reliability, and visibility. Qualifications - Prior experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy within an ecommerce or consumer products environment. - Strong SQL skills, preferably within BigQuery. - Experience validating datasets, dashboards, and business metrics with exceptional attention to detail. - Experience managing analytics vendors, agencies, or cross-functional analytics initiatives. - Strong understanding of KPI governance, reporting standards, and business intelligence best practices. - Ability to connect data analysis with business outcomes and strategic decision-making. - Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. - A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset with a bias toward solving problems before they become larger issues. - Confidence challenging assumptions and driving alignment through data. Preferred Experience - Experience with Amplitude, PostHog, or similar product analytics platforms. - Experience managing analytics environments built on BigQuery. - Experience with ecommerce platforms, subscription businesses, and marketplace analytics (Amazon, Walmart, etc.). - Strong understanding of CAC, MER, ROAS, LTV, contribution margin, retention, cohort analysis, and subscription economics. - Experience with GTM, Elevar, webhooks, pixels, server-side tracking, and attribution systems. - Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and A/B testing analysis. - Experience documenting data models, analytics workflows, reporting standards, and governance frameworks. - Experience supporting forecasting, inventory planning, financial planning, or operational analytics.
