Role Description We are looking for an Erlang Developer, ideally with experience in the financial industry with a minimum of 5 years of professional development experience that will work on: - Distributed high load financial system. - Processing trades and transactions, calculating financial metrics using several distributed services in Erlang. - Storing large amounts of data in PostgreSQL. - Communicating with external services using a combination of REST API and TCP-based streams. - Collecting metrics, logs, benchmarking and making necessary performance improvements. Reporting Line - Erlang Dev Lead Worksite: Remote/ Hybrid/ On-site (options vary by location) Responsibilities: - Design, develop and implement new features from idea stage all the way into production. - Maintain current functionality against the backdrop of growing number of data and requests. - Participate in architecture development, writing and maintaining documentation. - Actively interact with your team, code reviews, mentorship and knowledge sharing. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional development experience. - Experience with Erlang/Elixir development, excellent knowledge of OTP. - Experience developing distributed server-side applications with high load. - Experience working with SQL databases, understanding of the principles of working with a significant amount of data, ways to optimize latency. - Experience with git, teamwork using github/gitlab. - Linux OS knowledge at the level of an experienced user. - Proactive in leveraging AI tools to improve productivity and workflow efficiency. - English at B1 level and above. • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using modern Java (17/21) and the Spring ecosystem • Own software delivery from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support • Build and evolve microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems with a focus on performance and reliability • Participate in solution design, technical decision-making, and architectural discussions across engineering teams • Diagnose production issues, optimize system performance, and implement robust long-term solutions • Collaborate closely with product and engineering stakeholders to challenge requirements and deliver high-quality outcomes • Mentor developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing • Contribute to technical hiring and help strengthen engineering standards across the organization • Leverage AI coding assistants to improve development speed, code quality, and debugging workflows

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services in native PHP (7/8), with clean, testable and well-documented code. • Build and optimize high-volume transaction and billing workflows, ensuring reliability, idempotency and data integrity at scale. • Develop and maintain REST/SOAP APIs for operator, merchant and third-party integrations. • Work with relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL): schema design, query optimization, indexing and performance tuning. • Integrate with external systems and gateways (payment, messaging/SMS, USSD, carrier connections, monitoring, billing). • Implement asynchronous processing using message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and caching layers (Redis/Memcached). • Ensure application security, resilience and observability (logging, metrics, alerting) in a high-availability context. • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Git-based workflows. • Collaborate with product, ops and QA teams to ship, monitor and continuously improve services in production.

• Architectural Migration: Lead the technical strategy, design, and execution of extracting deep business logic from existing Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures and re-architecting them into highly modular .NET 8 microservices. • Cloud & DevOps Leadership: Design and oversee the deployment architecture within a cloud environment, primarily leveraging AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and AWS Service Mesh (or equivalent cloud native tools). • Team Technical Leadership: Provide direct mentorship, technical direction, and code/design review guardrails for a team of 5 backend engineers. • Design & Best Practices: Define microservices patterns, database communication strategies, data validation frameworks, and performance-tuning guidelines for the new ecosystem. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary technical point of contact during the migration, bridging the gap between legacy database structures and modern cloud-native architectures.
