Accounting Analyst

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, accounting records, and management reports for assigned business units or companies • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies • Perform bank account and general ledger reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions • Research accounting issues, investigate errors, and provide recommendations for resolution • Review, test, and validate accounting impacts associated with system changes and enhancements • Prepare balance sheet and operating results analyses, including variance and deviation reporting • Support business units, finance partners, and actuarial teams with financial and accounting-related requests • Assist in the preparation of state and regulatory filings and related documentation • Develop supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements • Participate in special projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as assigned • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting procedures, and documentation requirements
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in **Microsoft Excel**
- Experience with **SAP** or similar ERP systems is preferred
- Ability to work with large datasets, reconciliations, and financial reporting tools
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices
- Highly analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to research issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with internal controls, reconciliations, and audit requirements
