What You’ll Be Doing As a Senior Software Engineer on the US Risk Technology team, you’ll serve as a technology partner for the US risk management function. We are working on challenging projects, creating ETL jobs in DataBricks, building workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, data flows with Azure data lake storage and DevOps environment set up. The role offers exposure to the full range of the software development life cycle, from development to testing to support. This Senior Software Engineer also builds solutions in AML Tech, Databricks, and other applications to support the US Risk Management business. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days may be remote. How You’ll Succeed - Technical Skills – make the link between business problems and technology solutions with a cloud-first mindset. Using tools such as SQL, DataBricks, Python, Microsoft Power Platform and Azure App Services. - Cloud Computing – Use the full range of Microsoft Azure Services with exposure to machine learning. Azure Certifications would be an asset (AZ-900). - Documentation – Comfortable documenting each step of the software delivery life cycle on wiki and our change management software ServiceNow. - DevSecOps – Write secure code following industry best practices and incorporate DevSecOps into your workflow. - Communication – write with precision and clarity. Express technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - Collaboration – build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors. - Business Savvy – apply knowledge of banking and risk management to ensure alignment between business objectives and software requirements. - Continuous Learning – stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, changes in the banking industry, and regulatory developments. Who You Are - You can demonstrate 5-7 years experience within Software Engineering with a relevant post-secondary degree. You must be proficient in languages such as Python and bring hands-on experience with Databricks platform implementing ETL processes. You must be comfortable writing SQL queries. Experience with PySpark or Spark SQL for data processing along Microsoft Azure would be valuable. Work with databases, cloud computing, or application development/support would be particularly relevant.​ - It’s an asset if you have experience with C#, .Net, or Power Apps. - You understand banking fundamentals. Exposure to risk management, capital stress testing, credit risk models, and regulatory compliance would be particularly relevant. - You embrace and champion change. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000 - $140,000 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
