Senior Commercial Loan Officer

Role Description The Senior Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for executing the Credit Union’s strategic priorities and objectives related to commercial real estate loan products. Key responsibilities include: - Developing and building relationships with commercial loan brokers, economic development programs, and California businesses. - Providing a variety of commercial real estate loan and deposit products and services based on members' needs. - Collaborating with other business units and serving as a commercial real estate lending expert for the credit union. - Monitoring and controlling loan data by ensuring data is accurately booked against documentation. Specific tasks include: - Manage, grow, and execute business development activities and maintain pipeline statistics. - Individually generate annual commercial real estate loan production as agreed by management. - Develop, implement, and maintain effective production strategies to enhance market position. - Mentor and lead business loan officers and support team in loan processes and member service best practices. - Ensure effective delivery of exceptional member service, loan quality, and loan retention. - Develop and execute strategies to attract new clients, including cold calling and attending industry events. - Collaboratively support business lending operations to minimize risks through adherence to policies. - Support credit/underwriting and portfolio needs by requesting additional information. - Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance. - Identify, investigate, and resolve member/branch/online concerns related to business services production. - Implement risk mitigation strategies, such as regular portfolio reviews and maintaining updated credit files. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. - Eight years or more of commercial banking and commercial loan origination experience required. - Maintain knowledge of commercial real estate lending requirements and applicable laws and regulations. - Exceptional member service and member relations skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business/commercial loan origination systems. - Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across the organization. Requirements - Mobility throughout the workday with frequent location changes. - Effective oral and written communication skills required to interact with credit union staff, management, and members. - Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. - Effective technology and reporting skills are required to manage loan origination activities. - Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required. - Corrected vision within the normal range. - Hearing within normal range; a device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. - Ability to travel for business, as needed, which may include overnight scheduling. - Occasional long work hours may be required to accomplish tasks. Benefits - Competitive salary range: $124,700.00 – $140,000.00 annually. - Remote work opportunity available in California only.
